Not the smartest thing to go out in the arctic alone to take pictures of bears, white on white, walk right by the sign telling you to watch out for the bears, then to not even see them coming.

Why do people do the things that people do? Man leaves safety of his outpost, to take pictures of bears. Misses the fact that there was a second bear nearby. Pays for it with his life.

Mom blames the company for not having fencing.
Why do people always blame someone else for their own ineptness? Put the blame where it belongs, on the guy taking pictures, by himself, without a gun.

Well ... he was armed with a camera so the sweet, cuddly bear should have known that the man's intent was to offer a photo op.

Give it a few months. Some other imbecile will go out and try the same trick again with similar results. Play stupid games -- win stupid prizes.
