Polar bears are dangerous and pretty much useless to the environment. The amount of prey they take down per capita isn't enough to make any kind of difference should they be missing altogether. Take away the protections and simply hunt them to Extinction.

Maybe off topic, but I never saw a major sports team with the name Polar Bears. You have bears, so why not Polar Bears? Sort of like Bobcats. This is evidence that bears are quite ferocious, so I think the name is apt.
