Pizza Hut.........bringing back the REAL DEAL restaurants!!!!

I haven't had PH since the early 90s. I ordered one on a basketball promotion that they were running. Free BB with every pizza. LOL, free my butt. My $15 medium pizza came to nearly $30 which was exorbitant for the time.

PH is a sham. A few years ago I ordered food delivered a few times from them and was taken back by the scheme to basically overcharge me so that if I spent enough within a period of time, I won coupons which awarded me with "free" food back that I had already paid for in the overcharges, and basically just assured I constantly ordered food from them at an inflated price.

Worse, the food sucked, the pizza was cardboard, almost artificial like it had all been molded somehow. There was no natural variation to it. Not a vegetable on the menu, just dough, sauce, cheese, and more dough, sauce and cheese, nothing to break up the meal like a salad, a potato, or anything. I was carbed out to the max.

The final insult is that they used some call-up grub hub delivery service instead of hiring their own people, and despite my telling them to just knock on the (open) door when they got here, they sent a kid who didn't even speak English, then instead of just knocking on the door, he stood out there for five minutes calling my house on a nondescript caller ID, then when I got curious, checked the door and found he was just standing out there and the cause of my phone ringing over and over, the guy didn't even speak english, and had parked across my driveways onto grass that had a drain pipe from the roof, and when I asked him to please back his car up off the pipe, he did not understand, so I watched as he drove over it as he drove away.

I called Pizza Hut up, chewed the girl's ass out for sending the cretin to my house, then vowed that was the last time I would trust a national corporate chain where I was just a number to make me a good pizza.

I would not take food from Pizza Hut now if they were giving it away.

I lived in OKC then, and it used to be a Ken's pizza, but Mazzio's bought it out. Then you had Godfather's Pizza, which is where I worked as a teen.
I remember Kens Pizza.
They still have Godfather Pizzas around here.

Sounds like you were dealing with a franchise location. Those can be pretty bad sometimes.
Unfortunately, franchises are just limited to what they owner wants.
Your best bet is to order from corporate stores. They tend to keep the standards up.
But not all areas will have a corporate store.

The one I order from is excellent. They will make whatever you want, if they have the ingredients.
They also offer different kinds of sides, drinks, and desserts.
The delivery people are always super friendly and get the food to you before it has a chance to cool down.
Actually, the first time I ordered from this one after moving here, I was shocked and amazed at how good they are.
I thought it was a corporate location, but no........it's a franchise. So not all franchises are the same.

Your best bet would be to email corporate about any location that doesn't have their standards in place.
I emailed them a few years ago, because this location was great, but didn't offer extra sauce on the pizza.
By the time I ordered from them the next time, they had updated the menu to offer free extra sauce on your pizza.

Well, whatever they are, they are the only store close enough willing to deliver to my home. I think I had stuff delivered from one other store in the area and it was all pretty much the same.

I had a friend once who dated a pizza shop owner and he told me the profits were enormous. Pretty much charging $20.00 for a piece of dough worth maybe 50 cents. Throw a little sauce and cheese on it, then charge $2.50 for 25 cents worth of toppings.

If my store is not up to corporate standards, that is their problem and fault.

It'll be a cold day in hell when I've nothing better to do but email Pizza Hut to help them improve their bottom line. I already sent them the message when I switched to ordering from any of a dozen privately owned pizza shops in my area, some of which include vast, scrumptious salads and things, hoagies, homemade pasta of all kinds, even include gourmet-quality deserts.

If Pizza Hunt really cared for my business, they would require ALL PH stores, corp or franchise, to include a postage paid postcard with every order which the customer could check off their satisfaction and mail it in.

Seems like you just got some craptastic owners where you are/were.
I get flyers taped to my pizza boxes. Coupons, specials, and emails and addresses where you can contact whoever for whatever reason.

I am pretty sure though........they're so good, because coroporate head quarters for Texas isn't far from here. The owner probably doesn't want to run the risk of a corporate spy showing up as a customer, to see whats what.

And yes, the food is basically free. I mean, a fully loaded pizza only costs about $3.00 to produce. But then you've got wages to pay, insurance, utilities, upkeep, licenses, etc......

I've heard tell that the highest paid fast food managers are McDonalds and pizza places. I meet a guy in high school that was going to become a McD's manager right after he graduated. This was back in the late 70s mind you.......and at that time, he said managers in his area were making around $1500.00 a week. PLUS McD's paid for your phone and travel expenses. It sounded good, but I wasn't interested in that kind of headache for that little money.........even back then. Especially for McDonalds.
