Philip Seymour Hoffman is dead

Where drugs are legal, and addicts get their shots administered, this kind of tragedy is rare.

While I agree they should be legal, I really doubt rich celebrities are going to go to clinics with street people and others to be watched over.

Michael Jackson had his physician with him didn't work out very good.

Don't think he was personally there.

Hard drugs are always going to be dangerous. An amount safe for one person could kill another. However I really doubt celebrities are going to go to public shooting up clinics to get monitored. I'm not positive, but I bet they do a lot of while partying, hence even less likely.... There's going to be plenty of deaths even if it is legalized. It might increase in fact.. However they shouldn't waste jail space and criminal records for people. Just force them into rehab, and if they stay off the shit, then no criminal record.. It could save their lives. And hard drugs only because they can kill.

It is you who don't know anything about drug addiction, it looks like. And MikeK as well.

Once and addict - always an addict. THAT is the verdict - for life.

This guy was clean for 23 years!!! Yet it managed to catch him AGAIN.
Because it is a death sentence, unfortunately.

When did I say anything to the contrary? Luddly is right. You are a liar.

not true

You can't just say "not true". People expect you to backup your bullshit with facts sometimes.

people can expect whatever they want. but only after they provide the proof to their bogus claim( where drugs are legal this tragedy does not happen) - and that idiocy did not require proof for you as I see.

your defense of this bogus claim proves exactly that - your personal glorification of the drug usage.

so stop lying and state it openly.

Michel Jackson had an idiot for a physician who had no idea how to use anesthetic drug safely.

Has absolutely nothing to do with using hard drugs. Propofol is neither addictive nor is it abused for "recreational use". It is simply not a "sleep drug" but an anesthetic and a dangerous one( for ones not trained to use it).

Don't know either but if memory serves he lost his medical license and went to jail over his part in it he knew what was going on and did nothing though to be honest I don't know what he could have done but it seems like he didn't even try to stop the abuse that was happening.

If you are talking about the idiot MJ had for a personal doctor - what he could have done? for the starters - not to play to be anesthesiologist while not being trained as one and secondly if he was so tempted to administer general anesthesia outside the specific facilities he could at least have had proper monitoring and first hand help in case of emergency. MJ stopped breathing - big f***g deal - when you know what to do and have the means to do it.

It was the doctor who was abusing propofol by administering it to MJ in order for him to "sleep".

Don't hold your breath.

he/she/it goes from thread to thread posting lies about other posters and then never admits to them or backs them up with facts.

I like your self critique.

are you talking about your bullshit claims of holly rollers?

you lied there as you lie always.

And proved once more you dont have to be smart to be a actor

Did someone say you had to be?

Just don't see the need to praise a rich retard that killed himself with drugs...

There are musicians whose music I liked that also died from alcohol or drugs.

I think it's tragic that addiction can take someone's life but I am still able to like a movie or music produced from an individual regardless.

To me it's just sad he's gone.

You have your opinion and I have mine

Where, EXACTLY, did I say pot is "harmless"?
Where, EXACTLY, did I "glorify drug legalization"?
How, EXACTLY, have I "enabled" drug addiction?

It was hubris not addiction that killed him and those musicians. They think of themselves as Godlike and reality has a way of setting them straight. I love Hendrix but will tell my kids every time that this is what happens when you are stupid. Talent isn't a curse but stupidity is.

It's hard to get upset over another junkie dying of an overdose. This is what liberals want to legalize. There is said to be a very lethal heroin on the streets. It is heroin mixed with painkiller. The effect is supposed to be an instantaneous enormous high followed by death. Since it kills so quickly and this one was found with the needle still in his arm, it raises the question of whether he was using this new product. If it reduces the number of addicts how can it be so bad.

addiction is a disease. and it might take just one try to get addicted - for some.

Our society makes drugs glamorous part of being rich and famous.

it is easier to find a needle in a hay stock than a celebrity not addicted to any drugs.

and then millions of teenagers emulate this stupidity and the lame stream media brainwashes everybody stupid enough to listen to them into this fallacy "drugs should be made legal, then everything will overnight become nice and peachy".

They should be decriminalized. But they should be vilified, not glorified - half of this board is melting in awe on the prospect of the legalization of pot nationwide - and that is a harmful and extremely addictive substance ( for the Woodstock generation - pot nowadays is 10 times stronger than it was in the 60s).
