Shuttles aren't spacecraft. They can barely get into low-orbit then come back down. That's not a spaceship. Neither's unmanned probes. I'm talking the first manned spaceship that can actually go somewhere. Mars probably.
It's hard to imagine anyone who's contributed more to the space program than the guy who gave the world Star Trek, Earth:Final Conflict, and more inspiring countless people to pursue academics. Be it the sciences, humanities, psychology (moi,) and whatever else.
