Soon US troops will be able to take on strong disciplined outfits like Russia and perhaps get a good result .
Keen supporters of the US like me would love to see your boys and girls get a useful result in a worthwhile conflict .

Next the US needs to do the same with its equipment .

4. Get on a de facto wartime production schedule
5. Modernize our weapons systems

Well, let's look at the PT standard. The AFPT was replaced by the ACFT, which replaced a three-event test with a six-event test. Sounds like they made the standard tougher, not easier.

The only thing they changed was that women can wear pony tails and wear nail polish. You know, what women actually do these days.

The real problem the military has is that only 23% of people qualify to enlist to start with.

Not sure how making the military less appealing to women, minorities, and LBGT is going to help recruitment.

Of course, woke isn't the problem here. The problem is most people don't want to sign up for some pretty sensible reasons.

That sounds like a set of poor spending priorities. Instead of buying new ships and planes we don't need, we should be spending more money maintaining the ones we have.

The problem is, the Navy is having a hard time meeting it's recruiting goals, and no one is signing up to be "the guy who paints the side of a ship."

Actually, I'm not that worried about the PLAN. Their carriers are a couple generations behind ours. We outclass them in carriers, cruisers, and destroyers.

More to the point, they just don't have the naval expertise we have. Think along the lines of Germany's navy prior to WWI. They spent a lot of time building up a navy to rival the UK, but it spent most of the war bottled up in port because of limited access to the sea and lack of naval bases. While British and American sailors were used to sailing around the world, German sailors were used to returning to their bases every few weeks.

That said, I go back to my stand-by. China hasn't attacked a neighboring country since 1979.
