Pete Hegseth Delivers His First Message to the Military as the New U.S. Secretary of Defense

Not defending the DEI crap at all, and agree it has to change. Just saying, he does not have much military experience at responsibility above Company Grade officer level or at most staff section (smaller than Company and specific to either Battalion level logistics, Intel, transportation, communications or operation, all or any of those being small section, tunnel focused on their particular field, except Operations, where they put it all together to help commander by providing and coordination the inputs of the other sections.
Actually he was a major, so that takes him above company grade

Try again

Yeah. Can't trust one who actually had to FIGHT in a War.
Why do you think that? That would cut down a significant number of my friends and associates as untrustworthy. I think you are wrong, just not understanding.

I think they are mocking you.

Well here's the standard: everyone has been to school AND taxpayers pay my salary so everyone is an expert on teaching

I pay the military and have watched military shows, so I can be an expert too
Excellent. I look forward to your next briefing on combined arms battle formations, shaping the modern battle field in length, breadth, depth, height, and time, and the coordination to make it happen.

AWOL Austin isn't qualified to polish Hegseths boots.

That is why, I said, "or at most staff section (smaller than Company and specific to either Battalion level logistics, Intel, transportation, communications or operation, all or any of those being small section, tunnel focused on their particular field, except Operations, where they put it all together to help commander by providing and coordination the inputs of the other sections."

Those are of course staff positions handled by Majors and senior Captains, and are the beginnings of staff assignments, above company grade, as you may or may not know.

I wouldn't do that.

But everyone thinks they can do a teacher's job

This is my point

Oh, I think Maj Hegseth would be an excellent teacher. Teaching classes and training is among the first things you learn as an Officer, if worth a crap. He is undoubtedly far more qualified as a teacher than he is at heading up the Pentagon.

We shall see, won't we. The last SecDef was an abject failure, so it's a low bar for Hegseth to cross.

Like you said, we shall see.

Maj Hegseth, still totally unqualified, except by MAGA standards, being pretty low for Trump picks. Trump screwed up. I hope nothing comes up in the next 4 years.
I disagree, Pete is a big upgrade over the empty suit that was Defense Secretary under Biden.

Riiiggghhht...since things are working so well in today's military......

Yeah, AWOL Austin was soooooooo "qualified"

He was. Conversely, Hegseth is the equivalent of a local store manager suddenly being made the COO to the biggest corporation in the world and then expected to make it run as smoothly as possible, as if nothing happened. My question to you is, if war broke out, heck, let's just say WWIII, since right wingers love bringing this up all the time, why would you want an alcoholic tv show host to run the whole military, as opposed to a former 4 star general? Why would you want someone who needs to brought up to speed on literally everything just for him to understand what they're talking about, in order for a decision to be made?

Tell us the problems that are happening in the military
Under Xiden and his DOD, it's been recruitment....believe it or not, people just don't want to volunteer when the Demklan is running the show. I know that's hard for you to grasp.

The Military Recruiting Outlook Is Grim Indeed. Loss of Public Confidence, Political Attacks and the Economy Are All Taking a Toll.

You just make it up as you go.

The pattern has been in place fordecades and, should it continue, Meese said,

Are Republicans running to fill the ranks since your Orange God has taken office?

Going AWOL is INSTANTLY disqualifying.

I guess buzzwords is how Magats navigates a complex political world, since they love them so much lol. In that sense, Trump is the perfect president for you folks.

You can argue that Lloyd Austin should have been dismissed for not notifying the white house of his surgery. Who knows, maybe a president out there would have done just that, but what you can't dismiss is his record as a 4 star general. The secretary of defense controls the entire military and prepares them for every eventuality. You don't give this job to just anyone, and you certainly don't give it to a tv show host who has a drinking problem, but then still continues to drink! Even someone like you realizes this since you're avoiding talking about it.
