perhaps a delete is in order

Our country is devolving into some real third world bullshit. It all started with Trump and his fucking "lock her up" crap.
Incorrect. It started with the left, long before Trump was elected.
Or..it started with Bush..9/11 and the clever use of the people's anger to sneak in the Patriot Act.
It actually started with the election of Reagan. Before that, the right had little to no power and were pretty much not included in the national conversation. All the networks and the majority of democrats paid lip service to equality and snickered at the audacity of conservatives and their permitted talking points.

In the '80s, the right started fighting back and challenging the narrative. Pretty much, from that point forward, the intolerance of the left has grown along with the hatred of being challenged on their lies and manipulations. The hate has been escalating ever since. All of it on the left until just the past 20 years or so when the right started to grow a spine and fight back.

The problem, like all such escalations, is that both sides are not going too far, and we are already in a civil cold war with each other.

It is all part of the game...the FISA court comes out and says "how dare you do that" and everyone thinks they really give a crap. The FBI comes up with some lame things they will do to fix it and everyone thinks they really give a crap.

This is not the first time this dance has been played out.
Under a new sheriff it is...

Wray? Are you serious, I'm going to have to agree with GG on little will change.

Wray should be ashamed of himself for his statements in defense of the FBI last week....top to bottom in the FBI no one stood up for justice and the rule of law in the start of the illegal Trump campaign team surveillance...not one agent.....the entire agency needs to be investigated fully and a full audit and examination of all FISA requests must be done in the open....

We must know if innocent Americans are being denied their due process....and you libs must wake up....this doesn't stop after Trump leaves office...FISA abuse is an abuse of power that will actually grow and bite us hard if we don't get to the bottom of it now and make sure it never happens again by severely punishing anyone that manipulated the court to bring down a duly elected president........even if it goes up to Obama himself....

To be fair I wonder how many agents didn't speak out over fear of retaliation? And also who would they have spoken out to, at the time the majority in congress including top republicans were supporting Mueller as an honorable.

No, Barr.

No, Barr.

The same Barr that launched the first large scale phone surveillance program, the one used as the blueprint for what is going on now by the NSA....that Barr?

The same Barr that was labeled “cover-up Barr” for his role in covering up selling guns to Iran...that Barr?

Yet, it was not considered bad by Dems until 2 demanded an investigation in 2019, 27 years later.. Funny that. Nor was he known as cover up Barr before now, either. Funny how that works, isn’t it.

Not true...many have known that Barr was Bush's cover-up specialist and the man behind the pardons that ensued after Iran/Contra.

What Does William Barr Have to Do With Iran Contra? | History News Network
A bit of prophecy here:

"Among the lessons of Iran-Contra is that a healthy democracy must have robust checks on executive authority in order to minimize abuses of power. A quarter century ago, the president’s attorney general, William Barr, staunchly opposed the independent counsel’s investigation of wrongdoing in the White House, and he also firmly supported Bush’s use of pardons as a means of self-protection. Are we to believe that Barr’s relationship with President Trump will be any different?"

Yet no documentation he was called that before now. I checked when someone else through that out recently. It’s a recent talking point.

I imagine 'recent' because of his retaking of the AG position. In our earlier times..the appending of demeaning nicknames was not as prevalent as it is now--as many follow Trump's habit..some out of loyalty..others out of seeing that it is effective. Also, while he facilitated the pardons..it was Bush's call...and Bush's responsibility. It is worth noting...that Reagan's actions in Iran/Contra were far more egregious than Trump's in the Ukraine--yet no impeachment kerfuffle. Perhaps it's because Reagan's actions were born of principle--albeit misplaced...and Trump's were born of political expedience and skullduggery?

But Barr's role..in Iran/Contra..has always been known..as were his opinions...

You are missing the point because your partisan loyalty is getting in the way.
Neither party really cares, which is why this will not stop. There will be no changes.

My very first post when Barr was announced by Trump was that he was too deep in the establishment to be a good choice. I am old enough yo remember him from the good old days of the early 90s. He will not do anything to jeopardize the surveillance capability of the Fed Govt.

Oh, it actually started in 1994, after Barr had left, under the Clinton administration-
More Surveillance Abuse Exposed! Special DEA Unit Is Spying On Americans And Covering It Up
Now, before you get carried away with this being some further proof of the Obama Justice Department’s (the DOJ oversees the activities of the DEA) desire to infringe upon the privacy rights of Americans, you should know that the program has been active since 1994. Thus, while one could legitimately criticize the Obama Administration for continuing the program, laying it all at the feet of the current administration would simply be wrong.

oh, and here is the oig report on it-
https://oig.justice.gov/reports/2019/o1901.pdf
strange how wiki would claim 1992. Not.

The DEA program is separate than the one the DOJ was using...that is why your article says “more” was uncovered
