Watching a segment on HLN just now about a bullied teen boy by clasmates and a substitute teacher, he remarks he gets teased and bullied because he's big. And he is. But what came to mind is this, if school in part is preparing kids to do well in the business/employment world, isn't trying to halt all teasing and bullying counter-productive? Aren't they going to be teased, bullied, etc. in the hyper-competetive business world? Aren't they better off getting teased and bullied and picked on to toughen them up so it doesn't come at them later even more severely and they lack the coping mechanisms to deal with it?
