PBS Gets Citizen Question Wrong

why didnt "CONSTITUTION" make its way into your comment??

it is what established and guarantees us as a republic form of government,,
:dunno:Maybe because the constitution was written about ten years after our founding... but I don't know why they left that out...

You just can’t get yourself to say representative republic because it’s too close to republican.
Hilarious.
Yup. And Republicans can't get themselves to admit to anything labeled "democratic". The whole thing is ridiculous denial.

The things you listed are SAME dummy.

CONSTITUTIONAL, REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY is a form of REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY, is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, is a form of REPUBLIC.
a constitutional republic is a republic,,

how can it be a form of something while at the same time be that thing??

:dunno:Maybe because the constitution was written about ten years after our founding... but I don't know why they left that out...
at our founding we were not a republic,,
The United States of America is a representative republic.
Anything else is just semantics.
CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC is the accurate term,,

youre supposed to provide a link when quoting online sources,,

do you have an opinion of your own or do you rely on the internet for your thoughts??
Chat GPT... is where I found that... I asked if we were a representative republic and that was the answer...

Take a Citizenship Quiz | CONSTITUTION USA with Peter Sagal | PBS

One of the questions was: What type of government is America (something like that) and the 4 possible answers were:
  1. Monarchy
  2. Progressive Fascism
  3. Democracy, or
  4. Republican
The correct answer is that we are a Republican form of government, but the Progressive Fascists at PBS say that we are a "democracy"

I don't know. I think you are stretching it a little. Out of those choices I would say democracy was the right answer or "none of the above" if that had been an option. As far as I know there is a difference between Republic and Republican.

All constitutional republics are....wait for it....republics.

It's about as complicated as white people being a type of people. :slap:

wheres your link that shows we were a republic before the constitution was written??
Come on you don't always have to be right.... we were founded as a representative republic form of government and ten years later the constitution was written... that's the facts...

Is asked about the form of government.

We are Republican form of government

Dummy, why are you capitalizing a generic governing type? It's not a name of a political party like Republican or Democrat.
did you check the OP? That wasn’t one of the choices

In any event we are a Republic

I'm curious what everyone thinks is at stake here.

Republicans: What do we lose if we call our government a democracy?
Democrats: What do we lose if we call our government a republic?

In other words, why is it so important to argue about?

youre repeating yourself again,,
and not providing proof of what form we had before the constitution was written
