Pawlenty/Palin ticket would result in a landslide win for 2012.

softball interviews by design! If Palin is a towering intellect, let her prove it! Step one: what books and newspapers do you read? Step two: Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine?

duuuuhhhh.

I would like to see ONE example of Palin talking IN DEPTH, UNSCRIPTED, KNOWLEDGEABLY, about some important foreign policy issue,

for starters.

But, but....she really CAN see Russia from her house. And did you know the Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands in WWII and, and...

Mr. Yankoff, it's you again.

About the Japanese invading the Allution Isands during world war 11. I am the one who told you that, it was not in Palin's book or in any comedy show you might have picked up on. Being that I know how historically challenged you are I thought it might be of importance for you to know that although you do not think Alaska has an important strategic geographical content, the Japanese sure as hell did.:cuckoo:

And of course, that seeing Russia from her house statement, was actually a statement made by Tina Fey, the comedian on SNL.:lol:

HEY MAPLE, BUT sARAH WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN TE DIFFERENCE , YOU BETCHA

Once again you defend Palin by pointing to the rest of the world. You know why I've been continuing? Because I wanted to see if you and other Palin supporters could see the irony in how you defend her. Do you see it yet? It's really very simple. The book that was written for her has the word "Rogue" which is supposed to indicate she stands out from the rest of the crowd. You yourself had made that claim. The most common method Palin supporters have been using to defend her is to point to other politicians. Other governors. Other States. Well can you answer the obvious question? If she is so much like all other politicians what stands out about her?

(go with your first thought.....just say I'm a fake Conservative. That's always a winner in your book.)

Would you care to list the accomplishments of your governor of your state or any state for that matter to see if they can stand up to what she has done in Alaska. If you can, go for it. Have you ever seen any politician turn down a raise, sell the jet, fire the cook, fire the security staff, use her own vehicle instead of the one provided to her. If you can, google it, and post it. I will gladly read it and respond to it. But you need to find it. I anxiously await your reply. Please provide the links with your post.

And all the while, she was STEALING from Alaska. Luckily, she got caught:
Alaska officials on Wednesday ruled that Alaska governor and former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin must pay back taxes to the IRS.

The exact amount the governor must pay is not yet known, but the Associated Press estimates she owes taxes on more than $17,000 in per-diem expenses.

State employees who live more than 50 miles away from Alaska's capital, Juneau, are entitled to state aid in the form of per-diem payments. Juneau is approximately 600 miles from Palin's home town of Wasilla, making the governor eligible for the payments.

But before she accepted the vice presidential nomination, Palin charged the state for over 300 nights spent in her Wasilla home, not the governor's mansion in Juneau. Her expenses usually amounted to $60 per day.

On Wednesday, Alaska state officials decided that the per-diem expenses should be counted as taxable income. Palin's spokesman, Bill McAllister, said the governor would pay the taxes.
Palin Ordered To Pay Back Taxes - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Notice the second paragraph: At the governor's request, she has paid them. Has Tax cheat and treasury secretary Tim Guitner paid his back taxes?? Or how about Charlie Rangle??:lol:

http://www.adn.com/palin/story/693695.html

You probably did not read the link, seems there was confusion by alot of senators, mayors and governors on the tax code. Many were under the impression that per diem, meals, miles, stays, were not considered income, these are benefits paid by the government to cover those expences, they found out and they are. Palin along with others have all paid the back taxes. Read on in the article, one of the mayors in Alaska was quite upset to be compared to Tom Daschle, another well-know, knew he was a tax cheat, and did it anyway person. These others did not know they were doing anything wrong or against the tax code.

Last fall we raised questions about longstanding practices within the Department of Administration regarding tax treatment of per diem payments," Kreitzer wrote in an exchange of e-mails over the past few days with the Daily News.

"At the Governor's request, we reviewed the situation to determine whether we were in full compliance with the pertinent Internal Revenue Service regulations," Kreitzer wrote. "As a result of this review, we determined that per diem needs to be treated as income, requiring a revision of W-2 forms for any affected employees

You can betcha that she would have, but I would betcha that not one liberal, including you, on this thread would have known that tid-bit of history. In fact I would betcha that you could not tell me who we fought in World War 11, who our allies were and who our enemies were. Wanna give it a shot and answer quickly or I will think that you looked it up.:lol:

You are deflecting, Maple. You did not know those little nuggest of history until you looked them up. All of that has noting to do with the very real fact that Sarah Palin is not qualified to be President of the U.S.

world war 11!?

i gotta get out more; i completely missed world wars 3-11.

who won?

Maple. Your not going to change anyones mind on this board. These folks believe what they believe and no amount of facts, fiction or truth will change that. Its all moot anyway because Palin says she ain't running for anything.

I guess we'll see in 2010 and 2012. Mayby then you will get the last laugh. LOL

You 'misunderestimate' Liberals. The primary reason we find Sister Sarah such an easy target is her ignorance and lack of nuance and curiosity about all the variables involved in world problems.

If we weren't so damn smart, maybe we would jump on that Bush/Palin stupidity bus too!

(That SNL sure did one hell of a job imitating Charles Gibson, a CBS interview, and Sarah Palin)

Just like Bush supporters, Palin supporters prove to be among the least informed of basic information.

What a moron you are. ANY time you wish to debate military history, please let me know. While the Japanese found the Aleutians inportant in 1942, because they wanted to protect the northern end of their Empire with remote bases there, I really do not see how their strategy is even relevent in today's world? Their need for remote bases was due to lack of aircraft flight capapbilities. This is no longer an issue. Of course, if you knew your ass from a hole in the ground, I wouldn't have to school you on it now.

Yes, she did and she made it very clear that someday they might be able to afford a less expensive bridge with money from Alaska. That's a normal occurence and it happens in all 50 states. I don't know what state you live in, but I guarantee you that your state has federal highway money in the millions of dollars too. How do you think the feds bribe the states?

Here in Colorado, we had an 18 year old drinking law. The feds told Colorado that you raise that limit to 21 or we are not going to send you any more federal dollars for your highway system. Guess what happened. Overnight we raised the drinking age limit to 21.

Check your state, they receive federal highway money. All of them do.

I thought I would be of some help with your search for other governors who have her record and keep in mind that she went after the CBC, the corrupt bastard's club in her own Republican party and some of them are still wearing orange jump suits.

Where you don't need to search.
1. Colorado, I live there and I know that the governor's of this state have never accomplished anything like Palin did in Alaska.
2. Illinois, Blogoiavich was recalled, still under investigation for attempting to sell Obama's vacated senate seat. The previous 2 govenors there I think are still in the big house. Jail I mean.
3. California is bankrupt- no need to search there.
4. New Jersey is going to be bankrupt- no need to search there. Maybe Christy can pull it out.
5. New York, is on the edge of being bankrupt.

That's 5 states, that means you will only have to search the other 45 states to compare Palin's record with the governors of those states. I await your search and look forward to the links that I am certain you will supply me with.

Let me re-phrase. You justify every shady thing she has said or done mainly by contrasting her to other politicians and it always comes down to the 2ng grade schoolgirl mantra of "But Sally did it too!" If she is so different why can't the majority of comparisons be positive?

Let me give you another shot at proving my point. Two weeks prior to being announced as the VP Can she was in church listening to a sermon given by the President of Jews for Jesus. Within this speech he stated the reason Israel suffers terrorist attacks is because it is God's way of punishing Jews for rejecting Christ. She had no problem with that obviously deeply ignorant and hateful judgment. How do you justify her support of anti-Semitism?

As for your request, I think a comparison is an excellent idea but for a legitimate comparison we need to first look at time in office. So let's compare her actions to all other governors. But I don't want to be biased or stack the deck by saying this comparison can only be done with contemporaries so I will gladly open the window of comparison for every single Governor that has served in the entire history of the US. An honest comparison is to compare her to all other governors who announced they were quitting less than two years into their four year commitment. Can you show how she performed in comparison with those governors?

I am very glad you are taking up this challenge. You do need to provide a link about her church though and the Jewish comment. I have seen NOTHING on that issue. From your post you state it was a Jew who was speaking for Jews for Jesus. I know of that group as I have heard them speak. How is it, that a sitting governor who is at a church listening to a GUEST speaker state something like this supposed to react to it or stop it. That is obviously his opinion, not hers. Please provide the link.

As for the comparison, if you can find any governor that has accomplished what she did in 2 1/2 years it will be miraculous, but I have given you the benefit of the doubt and you can compare the entire 4 or 8 year term of any governor and I will accept that as well . In other words they don't HAVE to list their accomplishments in 2 1/2 year period.

As far as listing the accomplishments of her 2 1/2 year term as Governor, I have done that over and over and over again on this thread. Now it's your turn, the ball is in your court, I have even given you the states that you don't need to check. You have 45 to do, I know it's alot of homework, but then again you are the you who is challenging it.

So, Maple, based on your lack of response, does this mean you are NOT going to educate me on the importance of the Aleutian Islands in today's world?

Mr. Yankoff, it's you again, I did respond, would you care to educate me on the unimportance of the Aleutian Islands and it's strategic importance to the lower 48?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleutian_Islands_Campaign

struggle over the Aleutian Islands, part of Alaska, in the Pacific campaign of World War II starting on June 3, 1942. A small Japanese force occupied the islands of Attu and Kiska, but the remoteness of the islands and the difficulties of weather and terrain meant that it took nearly a year for a large U.S. force to eject them. The islands' strategic value was their ability to control Pacific Great Circle routes. This control of the Pacific transportation routes is why General Billy Mitchell stated to Congress in 1935 "I believe that in the future, whoever holds Alaska will hold the world. I think it is the most important strategic place in the world." The Japanese reasoned that control of the Aleutians would prevent a possible U.S. attack across the Northern Pacific. Similarly, the U.S. feared that the islands would be used as bases from which to launch aerial assaults against the West Coast.

There you go, are you naive enough to think that this could not ever happen again, Yankoff? I failed to mention that there is alot of natural gas and oil reserves in the area and other countries are drooling over them.

I figured you didn't know anything about the anti-Semitism because as you just demonstrated with the "It was not Palin who made the russia remark" claim you are not very informed about Palin.

The funniest part about that is Palin didn't even write it. That book is the pet rock scam of 2009.

Given the history of one poster who likes to whine in the rep button comments:

(in case cali girl gets her panties in a twist let me be clear once again: all ghost written books that are marketed as being authored by the celebrity is an unethical practice. The fact you are in the business is evidence it's akin to selling used cars. There are some ethical and honest people, but largely it's a game of deception)
