“Palestine” just an old Roman name for ancient Israel. There never has been a place named “Palestine” founded by a people named “Palestinians”

Contrary to popular belief, there never has been a place named “Palestine” founded by “Palestinians”. Never. What the anti-Israel propagandists generally don’t know, because they’re historically illiterate or just plain dumb, is the name Palestine originated as a Roman name for ancient Israel (Romans called the country Judea, signifying land of the Jews). That’s right: Palestine is a Latin word, not Arabic. The Romans imposed the name Palestine on Jews in retribution for a Jewish Revolt, about 2,000 years ago, intended to erase the Jewish heritage of their homeland. Palestine referred to Philistines, well-known enemies of the Israelites recorded in the Bible.

Below are excerpts from books by eminent scholars of Roman history who wrote about the episode of Roman Palestine. So, Palestine never really existed in the Middle East. It’s a Western nickname for Jews’ Homeland.

After this they marched forward with the design of invading Egypt. When they had reached Palestine, however, Psammetichus the Egyptian king met them with gifts and prayers, and prevailed on them to advance no further.

The Phoenicians and the Syrians of Palestine themselves confess that they learnt the custom of the Egyptians; and the Syrians who dwell about the rivers Thermodon and Parthenius, as well as their neighbours the Macronians, say that they have recently adopted it from the Colchians.

The pillars which Sesostris erected in the conquered countries have for the most part disappeared; but in the part of Syria called Palestine, I myself saw them still standing, with the writing abovementioned, and the emblem distinctly visible.

Palestine is just the name of a Syrian province since 500 BC.

Herodotus was Greek. He wrote about Syria-Palestine... long before Rome had any power.

European Christians were well-versed in Latin, not Greek. They adopted the Roman/Latin name Palaestina and anglicized it into Palestine which became the conventional nickname for Israel.

There were no European Christians in 500 BC. Palestine was a province of Syria.

Eusebius, a prominent Christian writer and other Christian writers translated into Latin had the Roman name Palaestina. European Christians adopted Palaestina after the Renaissance, looking back into Roman records.
