NFL players started standing for the Anthem in 2009. They were moved to the field as a Marketing Strategy. The DOJ paid 5.4 million and the National Guard paid 6.7 million to stage on field patriotism for recruitment purposes.
Holy shit....So standing isnt a sign of patriotism. Its a sign of good marketing that is so good that people will dismiss that your money went to making sure players stand.
