Pennsylvania Capitol s Porn Email Scandal Appointee Won t Quit - NBC News

Republican Gov. Tom Corbett called on one of his political appointees to resign Friday because of his role in the scandal over pornography exchanges in the state attorney general's office, but the appointee refused. In a letter to Corbett, Randy Feathers said he wants Democratic Attorney General Kathleen Kane to appoint an independent forensic expert to review what Kane described as inappropriate emails linked to Feathers that were provided to the governor's office at his request.

Feathers said he would consider stepping down from his $116,000-a-year seat on the state Board of Probation and Parole if the expert concludes he did not fulfill his professional responsibilities. Corbett could remove Feathers from the board for cause, but that would require the consent of the state Senate. Republicans who control the chamber signaled support for Corbett, but the GOP caucus is several votes shy of the two-thirds majority that state law requires.

Porn Email Scandal Grips Pennsylvania Capitol - NBC News

A widening scandal over the exchange of emails containing pornography by current and former members of the attorney general's office has gripped the Pennsylvania Capitol all week. Pennsylvania's state Supreme Court chief justice demanded information on whether any judges were part of the exchanges. Gov. Tom Corbett, who was attorney general when the emails were exchanged, was forced to defend his management of the office as he campaigns for a second term. And on Thursday, two top officials who followed Corbett from the attorney general's office into his gubernatorial administration resigned.

Corbett disclosed the resignations of Environmental Protection Secretary Christopher Abruzzo and Glenn Parno, a top lawyer in the Department of Environmental Protection, in separate announcements hours apart, just as the attorney general's office was releasing copies of their email messages to the governor's office and news organizations. Their departures came a week after Attorney General Kathleen Kane's office identified them as being among eight ex-employees who sent or received hundreds of pornographic images or videos in emails that were discovered during Kane's review of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse prosecution. All eight men, who also include state police Commissioner Frank Noonan...

Appointee Refuses to Step Down Over Porn Scandal - ABC News

Corbett's request came as his office wrapped up two days of reviewing emails that are at the center of the scandal, including what Kane's office says are more than 400 emails Feathers received and dozens he sent while working for then-Attorney General Corbett. Heavily redacted copies revealed sexually tinged jokes and at least one insensitive remark about people of Arab descent.

Corbett asks third official to resign over porn e-mails - Philly.com

Gov. Corbett on Friday sought the resignation of a third state official - his appointee to the state Parole Board - amid disclosures that the man had participated in the exchange of pornography over state computers.
But Randy Feathers said he would not step down from the $116,000-a-year job.

In an interview, Feathers said he sent a letter to Corbett explaining his stance and a second to Attorney General Kathleen Kane asking for an independent forensic expert to review the sexually explicit messages that she says he received or forwarded.

Feathers asserted that Kane was motivated by politics when she identified him and seven other former employees of her office as having exchanged pornography over state accounts between 2008 and 2012 - and then shared some of those e-mails with reporters.

"This attorney general doesn't have the best credibility with me," Feathers said, adding that he initiated none of the e-mails Kane has released. "I'm not going to resign from a position because she says I did something. This is politics, and I'm caught in the middle of it."

The only problem with this is that the AG did exactly as Feathers suggested, and apparently, he DID forward emails and also respond to them:

I have two comments:

First, when I first saw the name "Randy Feathers" and "porn" in the same sentence, I had to chuckle.
There is a female porn-star in Europe who uses the name "Randi" and she is quite talented.... I have, uhhh, seen her work, uhhh, somewhere...

Second, and this will surprise Conservatives, Mr. Feathers appears to have made a point, to a point. If he can prove that he never willingly partook of said pornographic emails, maybe there is indeed hope for him. However, there were apparently many such emails and he also did nothing to stop them from reaching his inbox, either. And the above video, looks very, very damning.

So, I am interested to see how this one plays out.

Either way, it makes Corbett's re-election campaign even more difficult. Most pollsters and pundits are already saying that Corbett is done, stick a fork in him.

If I followed this right, this was pornography in the strictest sense meaning written sexual content? Much ado about nothing then. It's news if type-As in Washington don't cuss, use crude humor, etc. not that they do.

Don't democrats think that porn is good for you? Isn't it a democrat belief that porn is healthy?

What's the problem?

we Dems haven't any problem with porn ... I don't have a problem with it ... the problem that you fail to see here, is the right stand on this pedestal of being god fearing righteousness people and how they are so moral, that porn is evile, and dems who watch it can't run the country ... so when they get caught watching it, doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical on your part by trying to dodge your god fearing righteous republicans ... just saying

This is the same state that a school district was caught Spying on kids through the webcam on their laptops.

"What? Intentionally put porn on someones computer to get them fired? No f*ckin' way!"

Let the Forensics guys do their jobs first.

Why should he? Billy boy Clinton didn't when he was IMPEACHED and he was the frikken President of the United States.

remember, it was ONLY A BLOW JOB

If some of you didn't have double standards you'd have no standards at all

No. I am not a democrat so I don't believe in group think. Democrats believe that every member of every group thinks exactly the same way as every other member of that group. Yes. Democrats are ruining the country, but not because they like porn. It's because they are evil as a class of persons. One of the items of evidence that they are evil, as a class of persons, is that they believe in this kind of group think.

Morality scandals are stupid unless adultery, illegality or some other breech of trust and even then politicians acting shocked is nothing but bad theater, nothing really shocks those jaded assholes.

Yep, just mention porn and here comes Delta running over. Flies on shit.

Can't help but notice you checked this thread out too, even though your reply coming in last indicates you didn't see my reply to it until after you started reading it.

Hypocrite.

Are you one of those porn again Christians Steph?
Personally I will never forgive Bill Clinton for forcing democrats to defend him, looking back I'm not sure it was worth it.

Slick Willy wasn't impeached because of adulterous acts. Or do you not recall how and why he was?

If this story is making big news in PA, then the state police are probably relieved to have the spotlight taken temporarily off of them and their inability to capture Eric Frein.

Actually, I clicked the link to post something like "it' s only a matter of time before Delta is here spewing shit about how porn is going to save the world." But, you were already here. The first responder, in fact, thus reaffirming my perception of you. I certainly did not view this thread with the intent to debate the merits of porn. I have only done that on this board one time, and that was about the Sarah Palin parody porn. You, on the other hand, seem to like talking about porn and other prurient topics A LOT, and with MEN. You make the inference.

A hypocrite I am not. A disturbed bastard you are.

Resign for exchanging porn? He deserves nothing more than a sharp reprimand.
