Owners of second homes in Wales are having to sell up. That’s no disaster: it’s a godsend

Of course not but most are empty year round, Wales isn't the only location where this is going on, Yorkshire Dales Scotland and Cornwall where some second home owners go down from London at weekends, local people have been priced out destroying the nature of villages.
Again, that means that the owners’ own decisions as to how they wish to use (or not use) their own property is something which you accept as being validly subject, instead, to what the government chooses to impose.

That does track with the essentially socialistic notions of leftists. But it isn’t at all congruent with the American belief in private property property and private property rights. I agree with the latter. This, I disagree with your views.

That attitude is destroying the fabric of some villages.

Its good that this is happening and that young people in Wales can find homes in their own communities.
Put simply its not economic for the settler class to buy up Weldh houses and leave them empty for most of the year.
Great.
Wales is following the lead of places like Barcelona and Venice in this. Its only right that visitors should pay their share.
After english moronic criticism of the policy it appears that they are adopting it too.
An all round win for the Welsh.

You're finished Tommy Commee. You destroyed your own country bringing in 10 million Brown savage import mouths to feed and rape your women. Hope your Children will forgive you as the burka becomes mandantory in Manchester.

Are you feeling ok?

Well i know the $$$$ is the god of some Americans but some of us have higher standards and care more for what is right and the society we live in.
Nonsense. Personal property rights isn’t all about money.

And you absolutely don’t have higher values or standards and you don’t give a damn what is right for society. As always, you say those things but really care only about political power the imposition of your views (regardless of their lack of merit) on others.

There is a lot more land in the US.So there is less pressure on it. Over here there is nowhere to go when you are priced out. No one is being excluded apart from the locals.
The rich can still buy these [laces. But they will need to pay a bit more for the privilege. Not enough in my opinion.

Most people LIKE having more wealth in their areas. It tends to keep more businesses open, have more businesses start, get more people hired, working jobs, providing goods and services, things like that. But hey, if that's not what you want, you do you.
It wouldd be great if that is what happens. But it isnt. They come for the weekend. Buy their food on the thursday night back home. Their kids dont go to the schools, they dont use the shops they are kjst parasites.

If they are literally refusing to spend money in your area yet want to visit, you might want to see what you have to offer. I also enjoy visiting a wilderness area but bring my own food and supplies because I know there will be no place for me to obtain them. It might be time for you to join civilization.

When i owned my Motothome i did stay on a site near the Golf course in Harlech by the beach, lovely place with a huge very impressive Castle, i did take a few supplies with me but used the local shop by the site most days, i spent money in the shop by the Castle and other places in the area, that is different than buying a cottage that is only occupied for a few weeks of the year.

Well if you go to the Wilderness where there is nothing it's a given you will take your own stuff, one of my Cousins who was American and lived in Georgia owned a log Cabin in the Appalachians where he went for short breaks fishing, i am sure there would be no shops in the area so he would have taken supplies, different prospect than a Welsh village.

There is no wilderness in Wales. Every village has food shops. They stock up at home to save time when they get here.

You can say that again, in parts the drive was a nightmare along very narrow Country roads with a solid Rock face on the sides which was a challenge driving a larger vehicle. Miny Don very good site and quiet, fantastic Beach next to the site.

That's a smart thing for them to do. If you're only going to be there for a weekend, it's smart to bring what you need with you so you don't have to go shopping while you're there.

What you need to do is make your area so attractive they'll want to spend more time and money there. And here's a thought, you can open a place for them to stay so they end up paying you instead of buying a second home that stands empty most of the year.

Making Snowdonia more attractive? it doesn't get any better, i have been all over the UK and Snowdonia and other parts of Wales are equal to any places i visited in Scotland.
