ChristisKing I'm posting this because you created a thread in which you stated: "...Look, I get where she's coming from but only because I believe that she's been brainwashed to believe that black people are the victims as usual, which clearly indicates you don't know much about the history of the United States and the impact that the laws supporting white supremacy have had on Black people in the U.S.

Over 400 years of major milestones in the history of people of African descent in the United States is what this less than two minute video synopsis covers.

I recoil at the expression, "mass incarceration," because it is bullshit.

But I like the fellow's attitude. He seems determined to succeed, God bless him and everyone like him. A pox on those who blame mystical forces like "systemic racism" for their own shortcomings. America wants its Black people to succeed, on merit.

The segregationist in the video repeatedly refers to ‘us‘. He has no claim to these mostly anomalous hardships he speaks about. He thinks his skin color qualifies him for victim status.
Leave it to the forum’s supreme neosegregationist propagandist to spew more BS.
FYI, blacks of Senegal and Congo who were not captured into slavery had shorter average lifespans than that of American slaves.
OP is among the luckiest people alive.

That's not mystical. White men should not talk about merit because you aren't where you are because of it.

Tht is neither neo-segregationist or propaganda.

Another ignorant white individual.

And don't tell that lie about Senegal and Congo.

MAGAT whites need to stop the gaslighting.

DGS49,

Why do whites like you ignore the minimum 188 years of legislated racial preferences given to them and pretend they have achieved everything because of merit?

Bad stuff happened in the past. That has no effect on anyone's life today unless one allows the past to affect them.

I never get tired of telling this one.

I read about a guy that was on trial for murdering his wife in the first. His defence was...he didn't remember doing because he had PTSD from his ancestors being slaves.

NO ONE CARES. THAT ACCOUNT IS OVERDRAWN. GET OVER YOURSELF.

Yeah, my father who lived during the Great Depression and fought in wwii, was really rolling in generational wealth, that he passed down to me.

How do you explain so many poor white people? How do you explain so many rich, successful black people? Sure the .1% make sure their offspring are taken care of, the rest of everyone else has to face meritocracy. Unfortunately many people are lazy and would rather develop dependencies on alcohol and drugs than fight for their share of the pie. You can't do anything about your genetics at your birth, but from that point on, your life depends on making the right choices. Make enough bad choices and you have to look for excuses, like racism and billionaires. Make enough good choices and you can become part of the .1%.

Or even the comfortable middle class. Which, btw, is pretty nice.

Not really true:

White-sounding names get called back for jobs more than Black ones, a new study finds

We study race in the labor market by sending fictitious resumes to help-wanted ads in Boston and Chicago newspapers. To manipulate perceived race, resumes are randomly assigned African-American- or White-sounding names. White names receive 50 percent more callbacks for interviews. Callbacks are also more responsive to resume quality for White names than for African-American ones. The racial gap is uniform across occupation, industry, and employer size. We also find little evidence that employers are inferring social class from the names. Differential treatment by race still appears to still be prominent in the U. S. labor market.

Now we're assigning color to names? Ridiculous.

Companies can hire and screen applicants any way they want. Some of them may look at names as part of that process. Some individual screeners may be Racists. If a person with a "Black sounding" first name thinks this is happening, then put a nickname on the resume. Problem solved.

So, do we agree that the bad stuff that happened in the past can effect someone's life today unless they manage to hide their past?
