Over 1,600 People Removed From Voter Rolls Under Youngkin Order; Groups Seek Court Injunction

Citizens shouldn't have to "prove" citizenship to a government that ALREADY knows who the citizens are.

People should prove identify with a Voter ID when casting a ballot.

And no, they are not the same ting.

I voted in Maryland yesterday and just as in 2020, all they asked for was my name and birthdate. I could have come in repeatedly and voted for several other people.

You said illegals don't vote. That is patently false. Democrats added the "mass" qualifier in response to Republicans finding fraud in 2020. "Mass" is a subjective term, so it gives them an out.

Over 1,600 voters have been removed from the rolls since an Aug. 7 executive order by Gov. Glenn Youngkin, plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the governor said Wednesday on a press call.

Seventy-five voter registrations were denied in the same time period, said Ryan Snow, counsel with Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Virginia for removing voters from rolls within 90 days of this year’s elections. Virginia’s League of Women Voters and the Virginia Coalition for Immigrants Rights had previously filed a similar suit. Earlier this week a federal judge ordered the Youngkin administration to release the names of affected voters as part of discovery in the League of Women Voters case and officials had to comply by Wednesday.

Snow confirmed to The Mercury that the numbers came from a list provided to the plaintiffs. The Mercury also has a pending Freedom of Information Act request seeking numbers of people flagged for removal and how many may have been reinstated or not removed.

The case will have a hearing in Alexandria Thursday morning where plaintiffs hope for an injunction of Youngkin’s order.

Looks like the dems are making a full court press to kill election integrity in Virginia.

I mean what are they trying to enjoin?......Stopping the process so non-citizens can vote?

It makes no sense. :eusa_wall:
Yep. And this clearly tips their hand and their agenda.

One moral here is clear:

don’t ever trust the Democrap Party. Ever.

Youngkin should announce all 1600 names have been flagged and anyone showing up to vote under those names will be arrested and jailed on the spot.

In Alabama. I sign in for signature verification.

Get paper ballot.

When finished i put the ballot into the machine
No one else is allowed to touch it.

You are confusing proving citizenship with proving identity. They are not the same thing.

I support Voter ID with the State responsible for making sure they are available to Citizens free of charge if not used for another purpose.

The courts ordered that they would be returned to active status, under what grounds would they be arrested?

(Now if they are really non-citizens voting, then that is a crime. But it is not a crime to be a legal voter and attempt to vote.)

Pretty much the same here (minus the signature). I hand them my ID (usually my military or DL) and the check in is electronic.

Are they?

We have the right to protect the integrity of elections.

IRS Admits It Encourages Illegals To Steal Social Security Numbers For Taxes

Purging citizens at the last minute before they can effectively challenge the action is not election integrity.

We should be better than the DEMs.

For example we had years to clean up the rolls, and Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, etc. launch clean-ups just weeks before the election to blind side voters. Not kosher.

The thing is, why didn't Youngkin just do it sooner before the 90 day window to beat this problem?

He did. He signed to order to remove their names back in August.
Did this election just sneak up on him?
Or is he just trying to make a show of it to his voting base while not really doing anything at all?

Agree
But Repblicans want to do it on the cheap

Just do blanket cleansing of voter rolls and let the voters fix it if they Hey, it’s your problem, you take care of it

Registrars need to do actual work, investigate before someone is dropped
They did. These 1,600 identified themselves as non-citizens.

They have self identified as being non citizens, so they can be arrested on the spot for voting.

Why not do it as close to the election as possible? Given the fact Biden/Harris have flooded the country with illegals it makes sense to do a check right before the election.

Stop trying to block people from voting because of imaginary voter fraud
Allowing people who admitted they were non-citizens to vote is effectively blocking citizens from voting.

Why are you erring on the side of the self-identified non-citizens than on the side of citizens?

Yup. Otherwise, the 600,000 or so who broke into the country in the last 90 days get a vote.
