Yes, they are using more coal. China just built a new coal facility. They are racing with renewables but it doesn't happen overnight. If you weren't a hit-n-run poster and read the thread you would see plenty of examples of Chinese solar and wind, and the massive resources they have put into it, even covering a barren mountain with solar panels, because, hey why not? They produce the panels, not the U.S. We had our chance and Republicans fucked it up.

So they will use more coal until they can use less coal. But there is zero evidence that China "doesn't give a shit about pollution". Just the opposite.
