In my 20s, country music seemed to be more marketing and cosplay than music by and for people. That aspect is still there in the corporate sludge side of music, but I did eventually hear some country with humanity. This is the first country song I liked. I recognized the title as a Linda Thompson song. Now I have most of the Emmylou Harris albums.
