Zone1 Only Tax Payers should be allowed to vote

Even people on welfare pay tax. Such as sales tax on a pair of pants.
We are talking about federal income tax. Sales tax on shoes doesn’t help the U.S. government provide national defense.

Sales tax goes to the state. So welfare recipients can still vote in state elections.

So if we attempt to make it so that if you don't pay federal income taxes you don't get to vote...

Question #1: Who gets to vote on the proposal? (Do we all get to vote or only those that can show an income tax return?)

Question #2: Will those under the age of 18 who pay federal income taxes get to vote? (If FIT is the standard, should the persons age make a difference?)

WW

That would put 1,2 million veterans on the dole, so they could no longer vote (by one persons position)
People who have already contributed to society - such as responsible adults who worked a job for 40 years and paid federal tax and veterans who served their country - are exempt.

Baby mamas who get money FROM the federal government - food stamps for all their illegitimate babies, childcare “credit” even though they don’t work, subsidized housing, TANF, Medicaid, etc., etc., - have no such exemptions.

We do not want to reward irresponsible people who do not and never have contributed to society with a vote. They want to vote? Let them get a job and pay federal income tax.

Nobody said only the wealthy. We’re saying that only people who pay federal income taxes should get a say in how those dollars are spent.

That would include at times, illegals.

What if you are a disabled adult and only worked for 10 years?

Stay at home Mom's - you are SOL.

and veterans who served their country - are exempt.

Our elected officials.

Never said FIT is the sole standard.

Of course disabled are exempt. Just as they should be exempt from work requirements to get welfare.

You liberals are always looking for a way to make sure that irresponsible, non-contributing members of society enjoy the same privileges as more desirable citizens.

"Borrowed" only means we have to pay interest on the debt they keep adding to.

And I know what I'm talking about. You're just a lying NGO trying to provide cover for the Deep State.

The only person looking like a dumbass is you, motherfuker.
So, you want the money to sit in the form of a number in a government computer somewhere and gain nothing? My God, man, stop and think for a GD minute! You are about as bright as a 2W bulb.

If people are dependent on taxpayers, they shouldn't have the right to vote themselves more money from the taxpayers' pockets.

How to spend tax money should be made by those with skin in the game and paying it, not by people who are only taking from it.
That is an excellent argument. I feel the same away about those in Congress who vote themselves a LOT of benefits using the taxpayer's money. They shouldn't be able to do that.

The serious fly in the ointment though are those senior citizens who worked their whole lives but retired on such small incomes they don't make enough to pay federal income taxes. I would hate to see all those people lose their vote.

I have always said that everybody above a low income threshold, even those on welfare, should have to pay something in federal income taxes so they have skin in the game when they vote. The reason I think there should be any threshold at all would be so the kids running a summer lemonade stand or the kid with a paper route wouldn't have to file tax returns for that kind of income.

You misunderstand me.

..... ..... I'm all for discriminating against undesirables.

..... ..... ..... ..... We just need to define who the undesriables are.

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... So we have socio-economic status.

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... What's next? Race?

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... How about limiting voting to only Christians? (Desireable denominations only of course.)

People who earn under $14,600 (single, under 65) already do not need to file taxes.

We could lower that to, say, $3000 a year for the kiddos at the lemonade stand, but above that…..everyone must pay some small token amount, say $200.

~$3 trillion (and growing) of federal spending every year. Spending on retirees is the primary fiscal obligation of the government at present.
Take SS contributions out of the general fund and dedicate them solely to paying SS obligations and its amazing how the fiscal drain on the general fund is reduced. Taxes will go up a like amount, but the retiree drain will be gone.

They're intergenerational wealth transfers.
Is that what your auto insurance is? How about your home owners insurance? renters insurance? health insurance? Think again. The rate payers in any insurance system are what supports the claimants. Are you on the dole when you make an insurance claim? Of course not.

What will that money do while it is waiting to be spent? Collect dust?

I swear some of you people lose IQ points by the minute on this forum!
