to take over their market place's ?

Facebook market place appears to have out performed it's competition when it comes to cornering the market's on goods being sold by individual's for cheaper prices, otherwise that match the buyer's preferences when it comes to a variety of products offered or sold via the internet.

Is it legal for companies to monopolize or create wall's between customer's and seller's, otherwise unless they join a mega site that has taken control of that market place ???

Ebay and Amazon can't hold a light to Facebook market place can they(?), especially when it comes to putting an individual seller with it's individual buyer's in order to make a deal and purchase.

have never fakebooked

It's the only thing I use FB for.....I like that you can limit your sale to your local area if you wish.

I listed my mom's Jeep on there and it sold in minutes.....To a guy up the street from me!
Yep, but for the people that don't want to contribute or participate on a site that has unscrupulous weird ownership, then the options for them are lost if don't want to use something like Facebook to get the results that you got.

I've noticed that once Facebook had dominated the market in such regard, then the option's to buy and sell in the way that you have expressed, has since diminished extensively on the internet as far as the competition or the other sites go in such regard. It's like people are being forced to accept the bad side of the internet in order to get to the good side of the internet.

If it were up to me, I would do away with the internet being anything but an info or learning enviroment such as (YouTube in which needs to be cleaned up itself also), and of course to promote a fair and competitive commercial enviroment for selling and buying goods and services.

So, positive educational and goods and service's offered by great companies would be the internet if I had any say in it's needed reform.

A site like this (USMB) is great for political free speech concerning the operations of our government and it's leadership. It should remain just as well as other local internet sites throughout the nation that give the same access for the same type of redress of grievances, but mainly directed at our government for it's improvement.

There would no longer be social media sites where gangs and groups and/or individual's can undermine, slander, disrupt or create chaos by way of their use of such platforms freely without consequences if they are up to no good or doing bad things in hopes to influence other's in bad ways.

Even the Highest GPAs Are Dumbed Down

The educationist clique cornered the market on your misused apostrophes.

Ebay and Amazon charge fees to people selling on their platforms. FaceBook Marketplace doesn't take a percentage. It's free. They're not offering payment services for the listing. Buyers and sellers make their own financial arrangements.

There's no monopoly involved. Sellers are free to list their goods on other sites or venues.

The point being that me as a potential buyer of said goods can't get behind the wall in order to make a deal with the seller unless I join Facebook...

Nope, Nada, Nope, it ain't happening. Not going to join a site just to access the market place on the site, and especially if the site promotes and/or believes the wrong types of ideological values.

You may think it's "like" that, but it's not that. No one is being forced to do a thing.

I'm glad it's not up to you. :)

Facebook does charge if you want a larger outreach. I've bought and sold online for over 25 years. You just have to have an idea of what site will work best for your needs.

I don't do Facebook and Amazon, I leave that to the numpties. Mainly try to shop local, odd item off eBay.

The funny thing is that fakebook makes it difficult for someone to join or even keep an account. The anti-gunners know nothing about security, but have legit people leap thru all these hoops. Google does the same thing, so I use a much better free email service.

Zuckerjew basically stole fakebook from those two other guys and used it to promote his perverse views. There is plenty of money out there, so any billionaire could start a competitor to fakebook, jewtoob, and all the rest. Musk took over twatter, so that should be a lesson to all.

I still use craigslist. Logging in just to browse doesn't appeal to me.

Used to have to purchase a weekly booklet from the store called The Want Ad or buy a newspaper if you wanted to buy/sell this way. What is any different about FB requiring membership?
