Race only matters when it comes to two kinds of situations. It matters when it comes to health care or to politics.
In terms of health care, you have genetic predispositions that you may want to get screened for, such as sickle cell, etc.
The only other time it becomes important is politics. For you see, politics is all about dividing and conquering. It really matters little how you decide to divide, just so that you do so. For you see, politics is all about choosing sides. You want one group of people on one side and the other group of people on the other side and fight to the death to get a leg up on the other group. Historically, race has been a simple and effective means to create such divisions. There is no prerequisite to doing such things as drawing a star of David on people to identify them as who they are, like the Nazis did the Jews, when the color of their skin often does this for you.
Now in the US, you had the white skinned Europeans who were as a collective looking to invade America. This immigration invasion force had no real interest in integrating with the Native Americans who were already here. No, they came to conquer it. Skin color was the easiest method to create such division, as well as the drastically different culture. Their group of people were poised to conquer America due to the fact they had greater numbers and a greater military capability. However, there remained one small problem. How does one silence the inner voice that objects to mistreating your fellow human being who is yoru equal, so the darker skin colored people were targeted as being "savages". This helped dehumanize the American Indian which was key for a justification in oppressing them.
The slaves were no different, as they were brought to America for cheap labor. Again, they were dehumanized and compared with a glorified ape, so men could be treated as animals. And what do we do with animals? We lock them in zoos for our entertainment, keep them as pets, use them as beasts of burden, or kill and eat them.
Today though, the demographics are changing. White colored people are now having far fewer children than dark colored people, so now darker colored people are beginning to grow in power due to their sheer numbers, much like white colored people had far greater numbers than darker colored people when they came to America. So now whiter colored people are beginning to feel the brunt of political pressure of being a future oppressed minority. Now as we see in the news, if you are a white colored male, then you are now a terrorist, or if you are a dark colored person who supports them, you become a token negro. Again, these efforts help dehumanize the white colored people, must like Louis Farrakhan calling white people "white devils"
Shrug. The human condition is vile and unredeemable in large part, as genocide is virtually always an adjunct. The American Indian is a shining example of this.
Speaking of which, the unborn today are the odd man out in terms of dividing people for power and economic gain. Today, the unborn have no voice as the cost of raising children has become very expensive. As a result, people now turn to abortion to save money. In fact, most women have abortions due to financial concerns, much like slaves were chosen for financial concerns and the American Indian was targeted for power and financial gain. The trouble is, the unborn have no skin color, so they discriminate against them based on age of development. I believe the proper term is ageism.
