Real Clear Politics is in the tank for the Democrats as this illustrates.

Trump was up by 2 points over Hillary back in October 23, but the RCP does not list those results in their list of polls results.

Trump Up 2 Points Nationwide, While Clinton Campaigns As If The Race Is Already Won — IBD/TIPP Poll

RealClearPolitics - Election 2016 - General Election: Trump vs. Clinton vs. Johnson vs. Stein

Of course they list all the polls that show a Clinton lead, lol.

Folks the polls are horse shit, no matter who they show is leading.

To use them for anything productive, you have to dig into their methodology, and not just make a shallow read on their headlines.

The RCP poll is worthless at this time in the election....always has been.....

However, it's all democrats have as everything else is a disaster....

But when you can point out specific cases of the RCP poll averages being baked and cooked to favor one party, one might expect PEOPLE TO STOP USING IT SO MUCH, roflmao

The IBD/TIPP poll is there.

RCP uses a rolling average of daily polls from each pollster - while Trump may have been up 2 points on one specific day, the average results for that week from IBD/TIPP ended up with Clinton ahead.

The whole point of aggregates is that they mitigate outliers - which I recognize can be upsetting when all you've got to hold on to are those outliers.

They are a snapshot of the past, and dampen current events.....and are used by democrats for that reason on purpose......

Can you tell us when the last time the final poll average called the election wrong, on a simple who wins who loses basis?

JimBowie luvs him sum outliers.

only 1 or two pollsters ever showed trump leading by 1 or 2 points, and never consistently or beyond the margin of error .... he's NEVER been in the lead with National polls....

You are correct, but...you just got lucky that you're correct.

Romney by a landslide!

The campaigns have internal polling they go by.

These national polls aren't that accurate.

Right or wrong, what purpose do polls serve to the public?

They don't serve any purpose "for the public".

They provide a service to news media and campaigns.

For campaigns it gauges where to allocate resources. What do the media need them for?

What does the media need the Kardashians for?

To make more money, of course.

People like to read or hear about polls.

Can't argue with that. They serve no informative purpose when it relates to who you should vote for though.
