Heatwave set to peak with 34C temperatures possible

"The UK's third heatwave of the year is expected to peak on Saturday with temperatures soaring to a possible high of 34C.

The hottest temperatures are expected in the Midlands and south Wales, while Scotland and Northern Ireland could see their warmest days of the year so far - with highs of 31C and 29.5C.

Friday saw the mercury hit a high of 34.7C in Astwood Bank in the West Midlands, and Wales recorded its hottest day of the year as Usk hit 32.7C.

Amber heat health alerts remain in place for parts of England - where millions face a hosepipe ban - while wildfire warnings have been issued in Scotland and Northern Ireland..."

It should be snowing there, they are as far north as Canada.

The only reason those damned limeys aren't skiing to work this very second is because we graciously allow the gulf-stream to pump gulf of America heat up to them keeping them toasty.

So they best shut up and take it before we slap a tariff on them or something.

To make it even worse, they're under a "hosepipe ban."

I have no ******* idea what a "hosepipe" is but something with a name like that probably should be banned.

I was there a couple years ago, charming in some ways, annoying in others. I think that is a restriction on using water for stuff you don't need like watering your garden or washing your car.

Took me weeks after I came back to stop talking like them.

I sounded like I had just come off a Monty Python sketch.

They should be thanking the Gulf of America.

You forget , Mr Salt, that a vast number of British people have brains which prefer and require optimum temperatures in which to further expand and deliver best outcomes .

Unlike Americans who have no need of such worries .
They have been well fried for a considerable time, though I apologise at having to remind you of such a regrettable truth .

34 is 93, and for pasty doughboys with no AC who are not used to such things, it is cause for concern. On the plus side, at least they will get free treatment for their heat strokes.

93.2 degrees?

Hell, that's just mid-Summer here.

Hey, maybe all those Pilgrims died of heat stroke when they came over. ;)

My AO today....Many Brits will die.

All I know about C is over 40C in Singapore is hot like Memphis or Miami. Sweat pours off you. Air is thick. Sun is out but not visible? Weird.

85C is hot to touch. 125C is burning hot to touch. -55C is like sticking your tounge on an Anartica iceberg.

That's a cool day in Tennessee this time of year, but we are downright cool today at 89 degrees for the expected high. My neighbor is cutting his grass before 9 am. It was about 93 in Nashville yesterday.
