refutes CO2 affects temperatureSo you think Dr Ott has refuted the greenhouse effect?
refutes CO2 affects temperature
I believe CO2 absorbs IR and reemits, it doesn't warm a damn thingSo, do you believe he has refuted the greenhouse effect or that CO2 is a greenhouse gas? What he's done is assume that all the world's scientists are flat-earthers. He claims to have refuted the greenhouse effect. Do you agree with him? Do you think there is no greenhouse effect?
Then you don't believe in the greenhouse effect. Too bad you've only got fruitcakes with you on that bus.I believe CO2 absorbs IR and reemits, it doesn't warm a damn thing
Not at any more energy than it received! So nothing gets warmer. Then you don't believe in the greenhouse effect. Too bad you've only got fruitcakes with you on that bus.
CO2 can transfer the IR energy it absorbs to other materials through radiation, conduction and convection. What do you think will prevent that?
Did you think the greenhouse effect was claiming that CO2 was increasing the energy of the photons it absorbed? Not at any more energy than it received! So nothing gets warmer.
It also radiates to space
Exactly what is being saidDid you think the greenhouse effect was claiming that CO2 was increasing the energy of the photons it absorbed?
It also radiates, conducts and convects TO THE EARTH'S SURFACE.Not at any more energy than it received! So nothing gets warmer.
It also radiates to space
No one has ever said that. Ever heard of the conservation of energy? It's one of those basics.Exactly what is being said
Numbers you IDIOT! ("will prevent that")Then you don't believe in the greenhouse effect. Too bad you've only got fruitcakes with you on that bus.
CO2 can transfer the IR energy it absorbs to other materials through radiation, conduction and convection. What do you think will prevent that?
Not all it absorbs, because half radiates to space! So how can it warm the surface? It also radiates, conducts and convects TO THE EARTH'S SURFACE.
Jesus dude. Almost every erg of IR energy bouncing around those CO2 molecules came FROM the surface of the planet. If ANY of it returns to the surface, the surface's temperature will increase. Not all it absorbs, because half radiates to space! So how can it warm the surface?
NopeJesus dude. Almost every erg of IR energy bouncing around those CO2 molecules came FROM the surface of the planet. If ANY of it returns to the surface, the surface's temperature will increase
So, how does a blanket keep you warm at night?Nope
Not by increasing water vapor and claiming that is 2 to 3 times the heat transfer choking effect of the blanket. So, how does a blanket keep you warm at night?
Strawman. Not by increasing water vapor and claiming that is 2 to 3 times the heat transfer choking effect of the blanket.
my body temperature doesn't go up. But why one stays warm under a blanket is because we radiate at 98 degrees which is most often 20 degrees warmer than the room temperature, and the blanket doesn't allow my body heat to escape into the abyss with a blanket on. I don't get warmer. too funny. The fact you correlate a blanket to CO2 is hilarious, a blanket is a physical covering. So, how does a blanket keep you warm at night?
Not a straw-man at all. And this is a public forum. I understand how greenhouse gases work and have no problem with the radiative forcing of CO2. It's the feedback their models produce that supposedly multiply that effect buy 200% to 300% that I find ridiculous.Strawman.
The query was aimed at jc456. Would you like to stand in for him? If so, please explain how a blanket keeps you warm at night. And we don't need to know what it doesn't do, we need to know what it does.
