OK the Republicans are going to successfully paint Ocare as the worst crime against humanity committed on these shores ever just check the threads on the subject.

The Rs will not have the votes in the Senate to repeal Ocare until 2017 at the earliest, which means that the right wing will be in open revolt in 2016 at the latest.

The Ds did not deliver the single payer system their hardcore base demanded. Their left wing is revolting already and has been for quite a while. Their majority in the senate contains nearly 10% non-Ds. By 2016 at the latest the DINO list will probably include Reid and Pelosi.

With municipal defaults coming ever more rapidly in primarily Blue districts the D political machines are coming apart due to soon to be broken promises. That will produce a motherload of PO'd leftists who will make blue candidates unelectable on the national level.

Higher taxes at the blue state level will cause internal capital flight to really heat up. Also making the exchanges the portal to medicaid will also cause poverty flight to the blue states to take off.

It looks to me like we are headed to no center, comments?

It will be interesting to see if the economy get's better on it's own. I hope it does.

But that might actually make the uneducated left think that somehow Obama was behind it.

Obabmacare will result in single payer, the end goal. We can't go back to what we had before, as that has been smashed beyond recovery

I have seen this theory being kicked around before.
Could Valerie Jarrett be that clever?
We can all agree Obama would not have thought this up.

If it went well they win.
And if it crashes and burns they win. They get single payer.

I don't think they counted on the web site crashing so badly or Obama getting
heat for being caught in a lie.

This is an interesting theory and I thought that the first time I heard it.

The Democrats fucked up the healthcare system. Period. Republicans will win the Senate in 2014. Period. Then win the White House in 2016. Period. Then repeal Obamacare in 2017. Period.

Actually, I think they will put together a much better challenge to the SCOTUS and give Roberts a chance to reverse his rather foolish effort.

The fatal mistake the maobama regime mande was not taking insurance away from the states. That will allow for a return to a system similar to the one we had before. Of course one of the republican bright ideas is taking insurance away from states to allow interstate sales which would be the biggest mistake that could be made.

Obama, Harry and the rest of the Democrats became so detatched from reality. The healthy and young they didn't want it before was not going to fork over more money a month. The only folks signing up is the sick, people getting medicad and folks kicked off their own insuarnce plans.

What don't they get? Folks want to eat and go on vacations. Not sit at home and pay for Obama care.

Obamacare was a fatal mistake. instead of delivering the grand slam the democrats were expecting, they hit into a triple play. Their earlier attacks on the 2nd amendment cost them dearly as well. When you look at the reality of our situation as well, the economy is still in the hole. Jobs have not come back. manufacturing is leaving china at a blistering pace, but guess what, it's not coming back here. as bad as it is, no one is even focused on this anymore. The critical mistakes of the democrats new policies are dwarfing even that.

After the fiasco of obamacare do you really think the public will trust the government with single payer? Single payer might have been a possibility if something had worked. Anything.

We could get single payer now only with a massive reach of government tyranny. Medical licences would only be issued to doctors employed by the government. All hospitals would be taken over by the government. It would be as if we had become Venezuela overnight.

The big error was in assuming that working people wouldn't mind giving up eating out, vacation and the kid's college fund if it meant that poor people would have coverage.

The way the economy is measured it is doing well. Admittedly a different measuring rod would be extremely nice and probably more accurate at first. But no matter what measuring tool is used DC will storm the plan in classic Soviet style just as soon as they figure out how.

Even when jobs do return to the US from China the effects here are barely noticeable. 10,000 Chinese workers replaced by US robots, 3-D printing and similar forms of automation would create what, 100 jobs here? That would save a ton of money at WalMart but the effects on wages and employment would be nil. If we replaced the entire Chinese Labor Force nearly 900 million by the end of this decade that might generate 6 million net jobs here. GDP would go up like a rocket but wages and employment as a percentage of the working age population might actually decline.

Very interesting analysis. You may be correct...who knows. Your assumption is based on a lot of low information voters coming to their senses and seeing they (like the rest of us) were conned.

Financially, the chickens are coming home to roost for many blue states and major cities in those States. Chicago is a disaster. Illinois is a disaster. Yet, the folks keep voting for the same idiots.

In Greece the populous finally stopped voting for social democrats but the society had to almost completely collapse for that to happen. I think the same thing will have to happen in the U.S. for a complete capitulation.

It's declining now labor participation is at a 34 year low and the outlook is not good.

Regardless of the design of the program, the government I doing it. OCalamity has left a distaste for this administration to organize and manage anything this big. They couldn't even design a website let along handle a total reorganization at this point.

The only thing left to do is repeal this boondoggle and start over knowing all of the pitfalls we've learned through this catastrophe.

When you can't run for election again there is no need for an exit strategy.

Tell that to every Democrat in the House of Representatives up for re-election in 11 months. Tell that to a lot of very vulnerable Democrat Senators who are sweating bullets right now. If they do not have an exit strategy they better....and fast.

Ocare might not need to be repealed immediately. obama, himself, is weakening it to the point where it will no longer be viable or enforceable.

What is happening is that healthcare is, indeed, solving the problem with free market solutions. Doctors are forming their own out of insurance health care networks. Pay the doctor's directly for a concierge service and have cheap catastrophic insurance for major events. That's the future of medical care. There's no place for ocare in it!
