Ocare No Political Exit Strategy?

OK the Republicans are going to successfully paint Ocare as the worst crime against humanity committed on these shores ever just check the threads on the subject.

The Rs will not have the votes in the Senate to repeal Ocare until 2017 at the earliest, which means that the right wing will be in open revolt in 2016 at the latest.

The Ds did not deliver the single payer system their hardcore base demanded. Their left wing is revolting already and has been for quite a while. Their majority in the senate contains nearly 10% non-Ds. By 2016 at the latest the DINO list will probably include Reid and Pelosi.

With municipal defaults coming ever more rapidly in primarily Blue districts the D political machines are coming apart due to soon to be broken promises. That will produce a motherload of PO'd leftists who will make blue candidates unelectable on the national level.

Higher taxes at the blue state level will cause internal capital flight to really heat up. Also making the exchanges the portal to medicaid will also cause poverty flight to the blue states to take off.

It looks to me like we are headed to no center, comments?

Very interesting analysis. You may be correct...who knows. Your assumption is based on a lot of low information voters coming to their senses and seeing they (like the rest of us) were conned.

Financially, the chickens are coming home to roost for many blue states and major cities in those States. Chicago is a disaster. Illinois is a disaster. Yet, the folks keep voting for the same idiots.

In Greece the populous finally stopped voting for social democrats but the society had to almost completely collapse for that to happen. I think the same thing will have to happen in the U.S. for a complete capitulation.
I mostly concur.

Actually, I think they will put together a much better challenge to the SCOTUS and give Roberts a chance to reverse his rather foolish effort.

Foolish? Ummmmmm, the implementation of Obamacare has saved the gop from any chance of losing the House, they may well take the senate, and I think they will, and they can actually beat Hill if they don't run some nutcase who wants to get rid of the fed or force rape victims to bear children and raise them as well

I doubt Hillary will run. Party A-listers generally duck out of suicide slots, witness McCain and Romney in 08 and 12.

At least borderline "nutcases" for both Ds and Rs is the way to bet for the foreseeable future. Minarchal libertarian seems to be the current center but who knows how long that will last?

Still waiting on the "end times" that republicans keep yapping to us about.

What's really ironic are the R's that are crying about Ocare and will live much longer because of it.

When you can't run for election again there is no need for an exit strategy.

Tell that to every Democrat in the House of Representatives up for re-election in 11 months. Tell that to a lot of very vulnerable Democrat Senators who are sweating bullets right now. If they do not have an exit strategy they better....and fast.

When you aren't planning on exiting there is no need for an exit strategy.

The GOP won't repeal Obamacare even if they get a majority by 2017. Whatever else its faults, Obamacare will have extended insurance coverage to millions who would have otherwise not had it.

You think the GOP will be able to find enough votes to kick all those people off their insurance?

Hardly. They might, with a majority, tinker with the mandate, fiddle here, fiddle there, but you people who envision someday going back to 2009 on healthcare,

dream away.

If the GOP wins the Senate, they can pass a bill to repeal obamacare which will have popular support. When obama vetoes it like an asshole, then the Congress can override his veto sealing his fate as the worst POTUS of all time.

By that time most of his supporters will hate his guts when they see he is willing to ruin their lives and healthcare to save his ego.

The end game for Obama and his fellow socialist traitors is for the entire system to collapse to install socialized medicine....that has always been the plan.

He will blame hospitals, doctors, pharma companies and the insurance companies when it is going bad in 2014, then he and his fellow scum will tell Americans they have the answer to solve the problems "caused by others."

after a few false mea culpas i doubt BO will give a damn about his Obamacare disaster.....all just part of the overall tear down America plan anyhow....he'll be gone anyway before anything can really be done about it...(barring a full repeal)

re 'exit strategy'.....i believe in his SOTU address he will dramatically pivot to immigration and as usual make the Rs out to be the bad guys...or even worse get the rino Rs to agree to some kind of big 'comprehensive' deal without real border security.....more illegal voters will pad the Ds continuencies as we continue to march toward third world status...

Republicans have the best leverage imaginable to avoid a comprehensive deal. If anyone objects to breaking it up into pieces all they have to do is say "Obamacare". Obama and the Democrats thoughtfully provided the best case ever for not trying to do too much at once.

He doesn't have the votes to pull it off.

Beat me to it.

I think the Original Post was a really good concise estimate of the situation. There might be a whisper of bullshit in it, but its a good as any talking head on T.V. except Krauthammer and Will.

But, I'm a simple man, partial to simple solutions, and I think the next elections, and possibly the fate of the nation, depends on whether Obama and his Chicago Political Apparatus will succeed IN GETTING 51% OF THE CITIZENS TO ACCEPT LIFE ON THE FEDERAL PLANTATION---WHAT with Obama care topping it all off....ON TOP OF welfare, food stamps, MEDICAID, subsidies to 400% of poverty ($92,000 income a year), ObamaPhones, permanent unemployment insurance, kickbacks and waivers to private Unions , bribes to public Unions.....the Democratic party has put together a virtual cornucopia of Socialist Systems, all while claiming they aren't Socialists....yet.

Are they going to be able to buy 51% of the votes with money borrowed from China...a massive debt to our enemy...a chain around the necks of our children?

That's the bottom line....the basic issue....Will it be Jefferson or Marx?

That's what the kamikazi pilots used to say. :)

I don't expect Ocare to actually destroy the D party but combined with the Detroit decision on pensions and the number of Blue cities facing an annual bankruptcy probability of 10% or more, the odds are @ 7 to 5 of a catastrophic degree of capital flight from blue to red each remaining year of the Obama presidency I do expect them to radicalize out of national competition. I think it was Heinlein that quipped, "What we learn from history is that we do not learn from history."

With the college loan, social security and the end of the Chinese real estate bubbles in the headlights the next three years will be a GOP wet dream. A president with zero credibility to use as an example of what not to do I suspect the Rs will overplay their hand and turn the 2020 election into a five or more ring circus.
