Explaining 'Parental Leave' to US Parents is explaining a nirvana of common sense. Parental Leave in Europe allows one parent from a family were there is a child under 5 to take a four day week for 80% pay... It doesn't effect there promotion opportunities... In France(where company's have to offer it by law) it is Wednesday and Friday afternoons... In UK and Ireland the days in question are negotiated... Families in Europe consider them life savers, they are a vital part of family life and seen as a very import support to the family...
