Compulsory health-coverage plan wins support
Proposed requirement would result in all Americans having policies

WASHINGTON - President Obama's dream of dramatically remaking the nation's health-care system is still a long way from reality. But if lawmakers can reach an accord, one thing is virtually certain: For the first time ever, every American would be required to carry health insurance.

The requirement, known as an individual mandate, is among the most far-reaching changes envisioned this year by those pushing for health-care reform. And it is one of the few common threads running through all three bills being considered in Congress, greatly increasing the likelihood it will survive the legislative process. Obama continued Tuesday to push lawmakers struggling with the large costs and scope of health legislation to move forward, pronouncing reform to be "closer than ever."

So Obviously MANY People are not going to be able to Pay for Health Coverage, and that leaves the rest of us Burdening it...

Those NOT Paying would also Include Employed people who don't Pay Income Taxes right now, I'm Sure...

The Dems in Congress are beginning to get the message that the folks back home don't want this shit and if they vote for it, they are putting their re-election chances in harm's way. Do you think the Congressmen/Congresswomen who make a career out of camping out in Congress instead of working for a living are going to do anything to turn their canoe over? They are putting a little distance in between themselves and Obama. Relax. Tonight watch Obama whine and cry on TV and tell us all the lies he can come up with to try to sway our opinions towards this stupid concept that we can't even come close to paying for. Bush promised that there wouldn't be any nation building or an aggressive military industrial complex...yet look where we are now.

Each person is different and, more to the point - it isn't dependent on any one person.

There is virtually no support for an entirely socialized medical system nor is there anything in our culture that would indicate a support for that.

Also, you are talking about two different administrations, two different actions (healthcare and war) and that seems to be a bit of apples and oranges.

1. Tell everybody how much this program is needed. (lie)
2. Tell everybody that we can't afford to not pass this bill. (lie)
3. Tell everybody that his program is being misrepresented by a few "bad apples". (lie)
4. Tell everybody that we need to pass this bill because too many jobs rely on it. (lie)
5. Tell everybody that it is "uirgent" that we pass this bill before Congress goes into recess. (lie)
6. Tell everybody that they will be able to keep their present health insurance. (lie)
7. Tell everybody that this bill is "good" for America. (lie)
8. Almost beg and plead for you to contact your Congressmen to vote in favor of this bill. (despiration)

If this was such a "good" thing for America, why does Obama have to fly all over the country to push it and go on TV so much to push it? If it's such a good thing, why are so many Democratic Congress members suddenly turning away from it?

He's loosing his political clout and wants it done quickly before people have a chance to really evaluate it. How come this is such a "hot" topic all of a sudden when it hasn't been that important to any of the past Presidents in American history? The only person who ever tried something like this in the past was Hillary Clinton and she wasn't even a member of congress - just one of Wild Biill's political hacks that he just happened to be married to. It didn't fly then and it isn't going to fly now. Drop it and let's move on to something that's really important. Something important like finding a way to keep this stupid President from dreaming up these trillion dollar projects that will bankrupt America.
