Obama wants to know how the country became so divided

Yeah, obummer clearly is.
Today’s question for your consideration: Is Hillary Clinton’s comment that half of Donald Trump’s supporters fall into a “basket of deplorables” of racists, sexists, homophobes and xenophobes accurate?

Yes, obviously. But sometimes it isn't wise to say the quiet part out loud.

As a July 2016 Rasmussen poll taken six months before Obama left office noted, 60% of Americans felt race relations had gotten worse since Obama’s election.
First, Rasmussen is a hack polling organization.

Second, race relations worsened because of birther assholes like Trump who fanned the flames.

It's no secret, nor is it an accident, white supremacists are enthusiastic supports of the former Bigot-in-Chief.

Not totally wrong.

Before Mr. Newt - Republicans did whatever the Democrats wanted them to do.
And now Republicans do nothing.

Meanwhile the country’s problems keep piling up and are unaddressed.

Governing is so 80s.

Maybe the rise in the internet and cable news outlets had something to do with the greater divisiveness. Certainly the political parties lost no time using them to denigrate the opposition and generate more intense emotions than in generations past.
