Obama does not lower flags for Tennessee shooting

It was nice of the Obama to visit Chattanooga and make a personal connection with the families to expresses the appreciation, sorrow and sadness of the nation as well as his outrage as to the nature of the killings.

Oh wait...

The servicemen weren't black? They weren't murdered by a white Christian male?

Never mind.
likewise, they were not athletes in the limelight and show true courage by announcing they were gay nor did they show outstanding courage and admit that they spent $3,000 on birth control during a congressional hearing.

Those folks got a phone call.

Obama is a grade A epic doooooosh bag. Probably had a few rounds chasing the white ball around .

the flag should be at half staff these men were in the military, and targeted because they were in the military. Lets hope Obama gives them their military benefits, unlike he did with the fort hood shooting. Sickening, just sickening this administration is a disgrace

So we are going to start reclassifying some crime as acts of terror because the people who commit them belong to certain ethnic groups?

Maybe we should address the terrorist in the room. I mean with all the prying into people's lives by the government you'd think this guy would've been a red flag.

Well, yes, I think this does show how useless that is.

I know this is rough for the wingnuts, having to balance "how much we hate the mooooslims" with "The Founding Slave-Owners wanted us all to have Automatic Weapons!"

Typical DUMB democrat voter. Liberals love your ignorance

Flags at Half-Staff After Chattanooga Shooting snopes.com

In the wake of the Chattanooga tragedy, the governors of several states directed their state flags to be flown at half-staff to honor the victims of those shootings, such as Tennessee (where the attack occurred), Massachusetts (where one of the killed Marines hailed from), and Arkansas (where another of the killed Marines hailed from).

A number of commenters noted with puzzlement or dismay that President Obama did not direct that the U.S. flag similarly be lowered to half-staff at the White House and other public buildings in memorial of the slain U.S. servicemen:

There are numerous reports on the Internet that the White House did not lower the flags to half staff following the shooting of 4 marines (and now a 5th serviceman who is navy) in Chattanooga Tennessee (July 2015).

There were orders by the President for flags to be flown at half-staff following the shootings at Fort Hood, the Aurora Century Theater, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook. Why the difference?
.

Indeed, the White House web site does not record President Obama’s having issued any proclamation to that effect, nor do flag notification sites. And it is true that President Obama issued proclamations ordering the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff following similar events such as the mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012, and the Boston Marathon bombing of April 2013.

Some have speculated that the lack of a presidential proclamation might be because as tragic and senseless as they were, the Chattanooga deaths involved members of the U.S. armed forces who are considered to have been killed in the line of duty (unlike the other mass shooting events referenced above, which involved civilian deaths), and while individual states often lower their flags to honor local natives or residents who die in the service of their country, doing so at a national level would require the President to pick and choose among service deaths to decide which to so honor.

Others noted that that speculation seemingly ran counter to the fact that President Obama did issue a proclamation directing the lowering of U.S. flags after the November 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, that left thirteen people dead and another thirty-two wounded (both military and civilian, although predominantly the former). In the Fort Hood case, however, the shooter was himself a member of the U.S. Army, and the attack was classified as an act of workplace violence.

A meme from previous years that was widely recirculated after the Chattanooga shootings falsely claimed that President Obama had ordered flags to be flown at half-staff following the 2012 death of singer Whitney Houston. That actions was actually a decision made at the state level by New Jersey governor Chris Christie.
Obama has been showing about the same sort of concern for soldiers that are being shot in the back of the head in Afghanistan.

Still no order? I had a thread about this up the other day. Unfreaking real.

Jaw droppingly unreal. He could order the flags down for the Aurora shootings, Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook and that ALL ******* AMERICAN NELSON MANDELA.....

But not his own Marines.

Wow. Just wow.

It's funny how you pretend to be an American because being Canadian sucks balls so much.

Not surprising. He's a Muslim foreigner for God's sake. A NWO plant. Can't people see that?

"Obama does not lower flags for Tennessee shooting"

This is among the more idiotic, inane lies propagated by the right, that the president ‘doesn’t support’ the military or those in the service.

Why would an Anti-American Muslim foreigner lower flags for a buncha American white boys? My God, think America. Think.

15th post
Why so surprised everybody, the he didn't lower the flag right away? as soon as this tragedy took place??

The answer is because Hussein Obama the Great Iranian ...hates America and he hates the military!

No rocket science here.

Same reason Obama refuses to wear an an American Flag lapel pin..Same reason he does not place his hand over his heart during the playing/singing of the National Anthem.
It would not surprise me if that insufferable prick makes his staff work on Independence Day and Christmas.
