How can the once great nation survive when vast swaths of individuals function via the sort of irrationality shown in the following post:

In a recent thread entitled "All You Have To Know About Obama," an individual representative of the sort of defectives so common on the board, posted this:

One hardly knows where to begin....so very much grist for this mill!

So...as highlighted in a recent interview with Obama's former Sec'y of Defense, let's see how accurate "Restored respect for America globally" really is....and use this as a gauge of the insanity that views Obama as any more than an abject failure.

I present the following as a refutation of the insanity.

1. "WASHINGTON — Former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has become the latest former member of President Obama’s cabinet to fire a missile at his old boss, saying the president’s 2013 decision to ignore his own “red line” on Syrian military action “hurt the credibility” of Mr. Obama’s word around the world.

2. ....Hagel also echoed other former colleagues....Obama’s decision to ignore his own red line on Syria has come under scrutiny in the two years since, as the United States struggles with a strategy to usher out President Bashar al-Assad and roll back the gains of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

3. ...Obama had said the use of chemical weapons by the Assad government would trigger a military response by the United States. But facing opposition in Congress, he did not follow through after Mr. Assad killed hundreds of civilians with such weapons.

4. “There’s no question in my mind that it hurt the credibility of the president’s word when this occurred.”

Mr. Hagel said that he still heard complaints to this day from foreign leaders about Mr. Obama’s about-face. “A president’s word is a big thing, and when the president says things, that’s a big deal,” he said.

5. White House officials also expressed annoyance over a sharply critical two-page memo that Mr. Hagel sent to Ms. Rice last year, in which he warned that the administration’s Syria policy was in danger of unraveling because of its failure to clarify its intentions toward Mr. Assad." http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/19/u...ce-on-syria-hurt-obamas-credibility.html?_r=0

So....a picture of a President unsure of what policies to pursue, unable to keep his word, and demanding of 'yes men' even when he has presumably selected advisers based on their expertise.

This, just one of dozens of foreign policy failures by this man who was never prepared to be President.

And reveals quite a lot about the mental well being of the dunce who posted this:
  • Best president in over 50 years
  • Prevented Iran from amassing nuclear weapons
  • Restored respect for America globally

President Obama has done more for all Americans than anyone since LBJ's war on poverty and civil rights. It is amazing the accomplishments of democratic presidents when compared to useless republicans. An intelligent republican would be embarrassed. Check out Kansas or Flint Michigan for republican accomplishments. Truman got it right long ago. Nothing has changed.

"Well, I have been studying the Republican Party for over 12 years at close hand in the Capital of the United States. And by this time, I have discovered where the Republicans stand on most of the major issues. Truman Library - Public Papers of the Presidents: Harry S. Truman

Since they won't tell you themselves, I am going to tell you.

They approve of the American farmer-but they are willing to help him go broke.

They stand four-square for the American home--but not for housing.

They are strong for labor--but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights.

They favor a minimum wage--the smaller the minimum the better.

They indorse educational opportunity for all--but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools.

They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them.

They approve of social security benefits-so much so that they took them away from almost a million people.

They believe in international trade--so much so that they crippled our reciprocal trade program, and killed our International Wheat Agreement.

They favor the admission of displaced persons--but only within shameful racial and religious limitations.

They consider electric power a great blessing-but only when the private power companies get their rake-off.

They say TVA is wonderful--but we ought never to try it again.

They condemn "cruelly high prices"--but fight to the death every effort to bring them down.

They think the American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people.

And they admire the Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it.

Now, my friends, that is the Wall Street Republican way of life. But there is another way--there is another way--the Democratic way, the way of the Democratic Party.

Of course, the Democratic Party is not perfect. Nobody ever said it was. But the Democratic Party believes in the people. It believes in freedom and progress, and it is fighting for its beliefs right now.

In the Democratic Party, you won't find the kind of unity where everybody thinks what the boss tells him to think, and nothing else."

1. Since this thread dealt specifically with his foreign policy....and you have gone far out of your way to avoid that issue, one can only conclude that you find no way to disagree with this:
Obama has been a total and abject failure in this area.

Good start!!

2. Now to destroy this part of your post: "President Obama has done more for all Americans than anyone since LBJ's war on poverty and civil rights."
LBJ was certainly no winner, as poverty is just about at the same level as it was half a century ago...
"Despite nearly $15 trillion in total welfare spending since Lyndon Johnson declared war on poverty in 1964, the poverty rate is perilously close to where we began more than 40 years ago.
Throwing money at the problem has neither reduced poverty nor made the poor self-sufficient."
Scribd

Pretty much destroys any idea that you know anything at all.

3. Now...let's really rub your face in it:
1.More than 6.7 million more Americans have been plunged into poverty since Obama became President.

2.Real household income is down 5%

3. Consumer prices are up 10.2%

4. Food stamp recipients up 49%

5. Debt held by the public is up 89%

However, the Obama administrationrecently projected an annual deficit of $750 billion in the fiscal year that began Oct. 1, and $626 billion the year after. At that rate, the debt owed to the public will more than double during the Obama presidency.

As of 2012, according to the most recent figures reported by the Census Bureau, median (midpoint) income for all U.S. households was $51,017, which was 4.9 percent lower (in inflation-adjusted dollars) than it was in 2008, the year before Obama took office.

The same story applies to family income, which includes many families with two earners. (The “household” figure includes single persons living alone, as well as families.) Median family income in 2012 was $62,241, or 5.1 percent below the inflation-adjusted 2008 level.

The number of persons living in poverty also worsened again in 2012, according to the most recent Census figures.

6. As of last year, 46,496,000 persons lived in households with income below the official poverty line, an increase of nearly 6.7 million since 2008 and 249,000 since 2011. The total poverty rate remained unchanged in 2012 at 15 percent of the total U.S. population. So for the second straight year, the poverty rate was 1.8 points higher than it was in 2008.

7...in today’s recovery — the slowest in the modern era going back to 1947 — private capital investment has lagged badly. ... so has the jobs situation, with 92 million dropping out of the workforce altogether. A labor-participation rate of 62.8% and an employment-to-population rate of 58% are historic lows indicative of the anemic jobs recovery.Big Business Swings Behind a Mantra of Growth - The New York Sun

9. "Incomes Have Dropped Twice as Much During the 'Recovery' as During the Recession
. ...the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey ....indicate that the real (inflation-adjusted)median annual household income in America has fallen by 4.4 percent during the "recovery," after having fallen by 1.8 during the recession.
Incomes Have Dropped Twice as Much During the 'Recovery' as During the Recession

10. (CNSNews.com)– The unemployment rate for black Americans is more than double that of white Americans, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).... In the numbers released today, covering the month of June, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for black Americans age 16 and over was 10.7%, reported the BLS. The unemployment rate for white Americans in the same age group and time-frame was 5.3%, said the BLS. Black Unemployment 10.7%, More Than Double White Unemployment 5.3%

I have dozens more examples that prove him a failure, and you a dunce.

The rise of Trump and his racist authoritarian movement has caused the image of the USA to plummet worldwide.

Fortunately, Obama is still around to display the good image of the USA.

Really? Sorry, you need to elaborate on this "racist, authoritarian" movement thingy.

Obama is welcome all over the world . You have countries debating if trump will be let in to visit.

As for the whole "red line " thing . You righties leave out an important part. You demanded congress give approval for military action in Syria , and when Obama went to congress the GOP was all "no way , not our problem!"

Obama's milquetoast behavior after declaring a so called "red line" in Syria. Completely changed the dynamics of the ME geopolitical situation. Our friends in the region distanced themselves from the US and our enemies became emboldened.

When new players like Russia and Chine entered the fray. Our feckless president responded by taking extended family vacations and improving his golf swing. .....

Gee....here's a shocker.....another foreign policy failure by the mistake in the White House:

"President Obama on Friday criticized Iranian leaders for undermining the “spirit” of last year’s historic nuclear agreement, even as they stick to the “letter” of the pact.

In comments following the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, Obama denied speculation that the United States would ease rules preventing dollars from being used in financial transactions with Iran, in order to boost the country’s engagement with the rest of the world.

Instead, Obama claimed, that Iran’s troubles even after the lifting of sanctions under the nuclear deal were due to its continued support of Hezbollah, ballistic missile tests and other aggressive behavior.
“Iran so far has followed the letter of the agreement, but the spirit of the agreement involves Iran also sending signals to the world community and businesses that it is not going to be engaging in a range of provocative actions that are going to scare businesses off,” Obama said at a press conference.

“When they launch ballistic missiles with slogans calling for the destruction of Israel, that makes businesses nervous.” Obama: Iran not following 'spirit' of deal

And neutral observers say Assad turned over all his chem weapons, so the whole RW position is bs...

Instead of having to endure the sing song ding dong ramblings of a madwoman on the topic of America's image,

why not look at something clear concise easily understandable and professionally rendered?

Pew Research's US favorability rating, globally.

Pay particular attention to the differences between 2008, Bush's last year, and the latest ratings under Obama. See how many you can find that are worse now. (Hint, you won't find many)

U.S. Favorability

Russia is the one notable example where opinion of the USA has gone down big time.

It seems Obama just isn't kissing up to Putin enough in the minds of both conservatives and Russians.

What's astounding is that anyone would even imagine that America's image around the world has declined since the Bush presidential disaster.
