NY Gov. Hochul begs the wealthy who left to come back

How out of touch with reality is the Democrat party? They chase off successful people with their onerous wealth envy tax schemes, then beg them to come back to pay even more taxes.

The best part is people have found the old post o her telling Republicans to leave for Florida, that NY doesn't need them.

Mamdani will take it one step further by trying to go after former New Yorkers with a sort of “ex-pat” tax that failed socialists and communists have tried before. His dream is probably to build a brown shirt force to go and extract money from these former billionaires with tactics such as threatening family members still living in NY - another Communist tactic. China and North Korea pull that shit all the time here in the US.

The governor of New York told wealthy people who criticized her tax policies to move to Florida where they belong. She said that they were not fit to be called New Yorkers. They did in droves.

Now the state is in economic dire straits. They can’t find enough people to tax as the big money went o low tax states like Florida and Texas.

Now she’s out there complaining that wealthy people and corporations have left for tax friendlier state. She says that NY. is unable to compete with these states. She knows exactly what the problem is, however she refuses to support policies to fix it.

Her solution is to beg these people and corporations to return to NY to pay even higher rates of taxation.

Is this woman just plain stupid or what?

The billionaires haven't gone anywhere, and they aren't.

There's no place better for them than right there in New York City.

It's where everything worth anything happens.

This is just more MAGA slop.
They’re leaving. That’s a fact.

I swear I thought it was AI at first! 6:00 in.

So basically she's saying that she wants the rich back so she can steal their money and give it to other people.

LOL....She’s right there on the edge of intelligence, but can’t quite make it over the line.

Who could have ever predicted that a state's high taxes would cause the rich to move?

If that was the case, Kathy wouldn't have needed to make that statement. The fact that she said that, after telling them to Palm Beach in 2022, is a sign that things aren't so great. BTW, money can travel. Here's proof.

If you don't want to buy that, here it is from the state of NY itself. LINK

BTW, I thought I've heard democrats/progressives/liberals complain that the rich don't pay taxes. If that's true, then why's Hochul so concerned about getting them back in NY?

The Great Wealth Exodus: What’s Happening?

For years, New York has been synonymous with opportunity. From Wall Street’s trading floors to Broadway’s bright lights, the city has drawn the ambitious and the affluent. But something’s changed. High-net-worth individuals—the millionaires and billionaires who call New York home—are packing up and heading for greener pastures. This isn’t just a vibe or a rumor; the data backs it up. Between 2019 and 2020, the number of New Yorkers earning over $750,000 dropped by nearly 10%, and those earning between $150,000 and $750,000 fell by about 6%. That’s thousands of people—and billions of dollars—gone in a blink.

Why does this matter? Because these folks aren’t just rich. They’re the backbone of the city’s tax base. The top 1% of earners—roughly 41,000 people—pay over 40% of New York City’s income taxes. The top 10%? They cover about two-thirds. When they leave, the city’s budget takes a hit, and the ripple effects touch everyone—from subway riders to schoolkids to small business owners. It’s a classic case of the few carrying the many, and when the few start to vanish, the whole system wobbles.

The wealthy don’t just pay taxes; they fund the city’s soul—its arts, its hospitals, its dreams.

Wealthy people are moving out of New York for greener pastures which goes to show why Socialism is a failure.

So NOW the Queen Bee has the gall to beg the wealthy to return to the People's Republik of New Yorkistan. Why? Well, she said the quiet part out loud. It's to fund the obscenely generous welfare/Medicaid programs in the Vampire State.
