Nuclear Power Revival In The USA

I asked you already the source of this "power" and you failed to cite them.

I never said it wasn't political, but you said she did it. That is beyond her power. Someone else actually shut it down. Who was that? If you were there, you should know.
Yes, barbra boxer and the democrats. As far as a source of her power, that would be the fact that she is a United States Senator.

The Constitution gives senators the power

I don't have to. I taught it for many years. You apparently slept through that class. You may be outstanding in your field or work, but you are off-target on this. It was not her decision. She may have influenced it, but she doesn't have that power.
Yet, Barbra Boxer did intervene and force the closure. You can ignore the facts which just gives me the opportunity to post the facts once again.

This is just one action of the many tactics The Californian Senator employed

SONGS Closure the Result of Boxer’s Actions, Not Edison’s

Where is the statutory power given to a Senator? You failed once again to provide it. She influenced the NRC but she did not make the decision. That has been my entire point all along because you said she made the decision, yet your links so far fail to provide any legal reasoning why the NRC could not have told her to take a hike and pound sand.

Other than the nomination she held up, and that is just one article exolaining one of the many many actions.

And yes, as a Senator they do write all the codes and regulations as well. They hold all the money. They make and break careers.

Anyhow, the facts are posted. It is very interesting, a thread of it's own

How could she have held up the nomination? There are 99 other Senators. Influence is the only way and that is not statutory.

Uh, no they do not. Where did you get such a silly idea. They do not write regulations for the nuclear industry. Boxer and Feinstein know nothing of your industry and would not have any input, much less know a steam generator from a feed pump, a primary loop from a secondary loop or even what a SCRAM is! I do because I crewed a nuclear submarine and have my dolphins.

Nice, i inspected the Los Angeles class, the Virginia and the Columbia class. I did this after I inspected commercial muclear power plants.

As far as I understand, the CFRs dont apply to the Navy.

I was on a boomer way back in 1980 when I was on a break from college for what would normally have been my summer, but I went on my cruise in the spring and we had school in the summer for those who went, about 25 of us as we were on a quarter system unlike most colleges back then. I was the first Navy midshipman to be awarded the silver dolphins.

My new chief engineer was meeting for the first time with the engineers on my first ship and he looked around and saw 4 of us with silver dolphins. We had an LDO who was a former submariner, a prior enlisted former submariner who had been aux MM on a sub, and the two us who had qualified as midshipmen. I was a prior enlisted ET Nuke but never got to training but went to college.

I cant imagine being under water in our smaller submarines.

Subsafe, i think that is what it was called on the drawings when the part/assemply could cause the loss of the submarines.

They are pretty amazing. The Virginia and Columbia never ger refueled. One load of nuclear fuel and they run for 30 years without needing fuel.

You actually get quite used to it. It's like walking on steel decks on a ship so long that concrete feels soft.

So nice of you to make things uo, put words on my mouth, than argue as if I stated what you claim.

You dont know shit about nuclear reactors.

Despite your crazy imagination, you cant show one person in the USA HURT!

fascinating challenge. If only it were in English.

That is surprising, actually not surprising that you cant follow the conversation you start.

Well, in most cases, someone makes an allegation, is asked to back it up, they either do or they don’t. I don’t recall saying anyone was in the...to quote you...”USA HURT!”.

One would think that someone who allegely was so worldly and well educated (as you claim to be) would know the ABCs of a debate.

The fact that you do not doesn’t surprise me; conservatives here and on every other message board seem to always embellish their limited credentials. You’re not special in that regard. We had a guy who was in his late 60’s claiming he was in combat over in Iraq a few years back. Clearly he wasn’t but he still claims it today; even to where he has threatened to sue me. You haven’t gotten quite as comical....yet.

You made claims of safety, under a specific scenario. Your opinion that things are unsafe are not supported by any facts such as someone was hurt. You can fear and imagine all you like, you can make stuff up, then you can argue that you are right in your imaginary world as you just did.

Really? What claim was that?
