Nothing generates unemployment like liberal policy

Working people make "too much" is what's killing this economy.

"Prosperity Through Lower Wages!"

Conservatives always blame the poor and low income among us for their problems. That's a big part of what being conservative is all about.
Sadly....liberals always blame the wealthy and high income among us for their problems. Greed and Envy - that's what being a liberal is all about.

Most of our economic problems are caused by the wealthy

So those guys in $5000 suits on Wall Street, you know the ones with the white powder on their upper lips, are liberals? Wow. Learn something new every day here.

Liberal policy believes in stimulating the economy during down turns. This includes the use of tax cuts to boost consumer spending. Every president uses liberal policies to stimulate the economy.

Research the policies and economic growth from 1945-1973. This era saw the most targeted does of Keynesianism in world history and it lead to a Golden Era of capitalism with high profits, high employment and a rising/powerful middle class.

Oil shocks and stagflation ended our growth.

Reagan exploited this to over-apply tax cuts and deregulation (to support only the suppliers), but he also enacted many liberal policies.

Reagan added more government jobs than any president after him. This was admittedly in defense (military Keynesianism): it stimulated consumer spending across the country (research the massive defense labor forces in Orange and San Diego counties - all those jobs represented new consumers), which consumer spending created massive economic growth in those regions. He also enacted the single greatest expansion of credit (debt based consumption) of any president. He handed out credit cards to families and relaxed all lending standards so they would finally start to spend. This is called crude Keynesianism, but it did lead to spectacular growth until the bills came due.

Regardless, we urge the OP to study how each president has used Keynesianism. Also research the government lead technology investment (also in defense) that lead to the consumer electronics boom of the 80s. [The OP gets this right? Huge investments in satellite, aero-space, telecom, computing and internet were essential to our war machine, but these things had insanely profitable commercial applications. Very similar to how the postwar economy converted the industrial output for WWII into commercial benefit.]

If the OP understood Keynes - how government stimulus, government jobs and industrial investment created economic growth - he would see that his greatest presidential heroes were all Liberals, especially Reagan, who used Military Keynesianism to grow the economy more than any president since FDR.

What a load of garbage. Yeah sure, the wealth is the problem (as you don't have it), not the 50 % tax rates.

You should freaking bow to the wealthy, they overwhelmingly pay for your welfare benefits. Your gratitude? You blame them for your economic voes. Classic liberal regressive. No shame... no shame... Perhaps the problem is that you spent your life at public school and have no productive skills. Just a thought...

If you want to blame the wealthy, you better show in detail HOW exactly they are preventing you from gaining a job.

rightwinger is not on welfare. Stop projecting.

The wealthy decide where the jobs go and the jobs are going overseas.

Perhaps it's time for you to attempt creating some jobs before complaining what other people do/don't do!

Perhaps it would be much easier to create jobs in America, if you didn't have a bunch of rinos at senate and socialist in chief at the white house. Endless regulation, gender hysteria and taxes sure don't boost the atmosphere.

You mean, drove the economy further underground, before he started playing nice with Tip O'Neill.

In other words - there is no denying what Reagan did so find the highest elected Democrat and try to credit him for the conservative policies that were responsible for the greatest economic turnaround in world history?

If that is so, why was spending and inflation so high?

Inflation dropped under Reagan. Who's spending? Federal spending went up 1.3% GDP. Personal spending went way up, but so did personal debt (yay credit cards and auto loans), so kind of a wash. Good for the economy but not so good for the consumer whos eyes were bigger than their pocketbooks.

Inflation dropped... from Carter levels. Spending went up... from Carter levels! A real conservative icon, right?

So you admit that you posted misinformation on inflation? :eusa_wall:

um, what? Inflation was still much higher under Reagan than under Obama, Clinton or even Bush43. Somewhat better than Carter, so, what? He should get a participation trophy?

You may want to pretend that Reagan was a model of conservatism, but the fact is that he abandoned most of his domestic aspirations after he drove the economy into the ditch in '83. Otherwise he couldn't have been reelected.

Despite this, he failed to regulate financial markets, leading to the SNL Crisis. So even the remaining conservative parts of his domestic policy were an abject failure.

One does not even need to look back that far, though. Just look at the "laboratories of democracy" today. Look at what teabaggerism did to Louisiana and Wisconsin. The results of these experiments are always terrible.

Quit lying, the consumers decide that.

Apple builds I-phones in China. Are you a consumer? Did Apple ask you where you wanted I-phones built?

How many conservative states have lowered their minimum wage in the last 8 years?

Zero? Is that the answer so far?

Why is that?
How many liberal states have experienced massive unemployment after huge minimum wage hikes?

100%? Is that the answer so far? Why is that?

No - the people refusing to work, demanding insane minimum wages, insisting on absurd government subsidies, and who hate people more successful than them - all while having white powder on their lips and alcohol on their breath - are the liberals.

I'm citing facts. You are attempting to counter with uninformed opinion formed through blind ideology. It's typical of your side of the aisle (unfortunately).

Um yeah....we all absolutely decide that. Because we purchase Apple products. If we didn't like China building our iPhones - we would stop buying them.

But - you've been trained to play the victim and you love that roll, so you would rather act like we have no control over where Apple builds their products.

Inflation goes down by less than a percent at a time by design, usually .25% or .5%. There was a .75% drop during one of Reagan's years and it was considered "whopping." Inflation was "high" under Reagan because it was astronomical under Carter.

I live in Louisiana, and our shithole is NO, liberal for as long as I've been alive. After Katrina, those NO residents were scattered throughout Louisiana (Texas, too).

TOPS (free college for those who graduate HS with a C average or above), coupled with falling crude prices, is what hit us hard, not the Tea Party.
