In other words - there is no denying what Reagan did so find the highest elected Democrat and try to credit him for the conservative policies that were responsible for the greatest economic turnaround in world history?
If that is so, why was spending and inflation so high?
Inflation dropped under Reagan. Who's spending? Federal spending went up 1.3% GDP. Personal spending went way up, but so did personal debt (yay credit cards and auto loans), so kind of a wash. Good for the economy but not so good for the consumer whos eyes were bigger than their pocketbooks.
Inflation dropped... from Carter levels. Spending went up... from Carter levels! A real conservative icon, right?

So you admit that you posted misinformation on inflation?
um, what? Inflation was still much higher under Reagan than under Obama, Clinton or even Bush43. Somewhat better than Carter, so, what? He should get a participation trophy?
You may want to pretend that Reagan was a model of conservatism, but the fact is that he abandoned most of his domestic aspirations after he drove the economy into the ditch in '83. Otherwise he couldn't have been reelected.
Despite this, he failed to regulate financial markets, leading to the SNL Crisis. So even the remaining conservative parts of his domestic policy were an abject failure.
One does not even need to look back that far, though. Just look at the "laboratories of democracy" today. Look at what teabaggerism did to Louisiana and Wisconsin. The results of these experiments are always terrible.
