there are more Americans working multiple part time jobs to make up for the high paying long term full time career they once had.
LIAR!
When Obama became president 5.2% of the working population worked 2 jobs and it was 4.9% when Obama left. Through the entire Bush Regime it was never under 5%. Under Tramp it has jumped up to 5.3% with over half a million more working 2 jobs since Tramp took over.
I'm not wrong. In fact I'm able to back up my point with facts. Unless you want to claim Trump was president in 2016, you will find you are the one who is incorrect.
The 6 million Americans who work part-time but want full-time jobs today are at the highest level in about 30 years or so.
America's part-time problem may be permanent
Well, that's certainly untrue. Although to be fair, the definition did change in 1994 causing a large drop in the number (before 1994, people weren't asked if they could actually work full time). But even so, your claim is untrue:
A troubling breakdown in the new Bureau of Labor Statistics report that he described as the red flashing light - the number of multiple job holders has risen to a record 8.5 million.
8.05 million in October 2016.. However...these are the not seasonally adjusted numbers. For some strange reason, every year the number of people working more than one job goes up in October. Huh...I wonder why that could be?
Now, the seasonally adjusted numbers, which account for regular patterns like that, do show a recent increase in multiple job holders after a big drop due to the recession. We see a similar pattern from the 2001 recession. And looking at the percent of the population working multiple jobs, that shows an interesting pattern:
In October, a survey revealed that 103,000 full time jobs were lost, and 90.000 part time jobs were added
Yep. But that was an aberration. Part time bounces up and down a lot.
