Not going to watch a single NFL game this year.

The NFL is not a competitive sports league, nor is it an entertainment venue similar to the WWE.

The NFL is the first step in conditioning the American public to openly accept outright SOCIALISM. It has been since 1994 when the CBA with the NFLPA stole the power from individual franchises and gave it all to the Commissioner and the League.

Assuming we're all familiar with the work "Animal Farm"..... the NFL owners are the pigs and the NFL Commissioner is Napoleon. If/when owners step out of line he declares them to no longer be pigs as a firm of punishment.
:cuckoo:

stopped watching years ago when an opposing DL got flagged for late hit on our QB.

during the replay, he slowed, put his hands up, moved to one side as much as his near 400# would let him, but he brushed the QB with his forearm.

It's a team game, not the QB and some other people

I will watch the Boyz win the Super Bowl

I pulled the plug and only have streaming video now so I likely won't watch a game. I sure won't pay to. I have to watch football time shifted so I can zip through the massive amount of time outs, somebody smells a fart ...TIME OUT. And the commercial breaks are ridiculous. Plus, the Seahawks were fun to watch but no way will they do it again, they got so close to two in a row.

I use the over the air channels. It's free. It's HD. Seahawk games are broadcast. What's not to like?
I only get channel 13 here, I'm far from Seattle. Depends on who's carrying the games. I do have a Dish receiver that can pick up OTA signals but it's a pain with no Dish account.

Seriously, I watched maybe two games last year. I will watch none. I used to never miss a Sunday.

I have an old tape of a Mark Rippen/Redskins game from '91. The ratio then was two commercials for every 15 minutes of game time. It has since reversed.

There's too much money in the NFL, well most sports, these days. They gotta pay for it somehow. I used to like watching boxing, saw Ali, Frazier, Norton, etc. never paid extra for it. And they wonder why interest is dropping.

Possibly along with all of the reasons I mentioned in the OP, I'm just not impressed anymore. I've been watching since I was a boy. I'd say around the time I was 10, so almost 50 years ago. So I've pretty much seen it all.

I never watched basketball, and baseball bores me. So I'll be doing things constructive this season.

That includes the playoffs in early next year.

Why because:
1. The New England Patriots have been cheating regularly since they came into the league and the league never does anything important to stop them. As long as they are playing football, I won't watch it.
2. Moronic thugs. Too many of them. I won't give them any more time or money.
3. Criminals allowed to get rich playing football.
4. Players who can't spell their own ******* names. Cough....Jameis...cough cough...
5. The teams I like suck.

the only thing predfan got wrong here is that the Cheatriots have been cheating regularly since they came into the league.they only been cheating regularly since kraft became owner and Belicheat and Brady came along.

what pred here is thinking of saying they have cheated regularly is the snow game in the playoffs against the dolphins in the 70's when the crew snowplowed part of the field so the kicker could kick the winning field goal but i just chuck that one up to the fact it was in later overtime in a cold driving snowstorm and they did not want to take the chance of the kicker missing the field goal and making the game go on longer anymore.

the dolphins were just victems of bad luck and the officials wanting to get the game over soon as possible that day.

I agree with all his points though.

I wont contribute one dime to the NFL.I will just go down to my local sports bar and watch the Chargers only because I love their uniform colors so much and i love california.I am not going to get into this winning and losing thing anymore because these games are so rigged.

the NFL is like politicians, corrupt and they get special treatment for things that you cant get away with in college.

yeah those were the good old days.sports these days have been ruined by greedy athletes in all sports.

i am getting to where i think i will just watch college football because those guys do play the game for the love of the game instead of the love of the money.

I think it is almost as phony as wrestling.

it is.you nailed it.

thats a good a good plan.I used to never miss a sunday either, now i dont care anymore if i do.**** the NFL.

Very wise. For those who don't know, the NFL is one big money making cartel in which all the owners get a piece of the pie. The entire system is rigged, and the competition is no more legitimate than that phoney wrestling.

The Unmentioned Consequences of the NFL's Recent Legal Battles
The NFL s Legal Fixes - The Fix Is In

He then concluded, "We do not condone the conduct on the part of the Patriots and the team’s head coach, and we likewise refrain from assessing whether the NFL’s sanctions (and its alleged destruction of the videotapes themselves) were otherwise appropriate. We further recognize that professional football, like other professional sports, is a multi-billion dollar business. In turn, ticket-holders and other fans may have legitimate issues with the manner in which they are treated….Significantly, our ruling also does not leave Mayer and other ticket-holders without any recourse. Instead, fans could speak out against the Patriots, their coach, and the NFL itself. In fact, they could even go so far as to refuse to purchase tickets or NFL-related merchandise….However, the one thing they cannot do is bring a legal action in a court of law. [emphasis in original].”

Mayer’s lawyer, Bruce Afran, disagreed. He believed consumer fraud had occurred. He said, “(The opinion) seems to suggest that no matter how much ticket holders pay, they can be defrauded by NFL teams. And it puts the NFL on the same level as professional wrestling.”

Because there is no law outside of the loose interpretation of fraud from preventing a league from fixing its own games, Afran’s conclusion is correct. One cannot fix a sporting event for gambling purposes; that is illegal. And one cannot fix an intellectual contest for entertainment purposes; that was made illegal after the quiz show scandal of the 1950s.

But fix a sporting event for entertainment purposes? Completely legal.

What’s worse, the lawyer representing the NFL, Shepard Goldfein, actually argued in court that “fans likely would buy tickets even if they knew the Patriots were stealing signals.” In other words, the NFL realizes that much like pro wrestling, even if fans knew the football was rigged, they still pay their money to see it.
In March 2011, the Supreme Court refused to hear Mayer's appeal thereby affirming the lower court's findings.

As these two court cases prove, it is time to see the NFL in a completely different light. It is not a loosely organized group of teams fighting tooth-and-nail to beat their rivals. No, the NFL is a well-organized machine out to maximize its profits by doing everything within their power to make people consume their product: the games.

thanks for posting that.

and yeah you are correct, that is VERY wise on his part. I will continue watching the chargers only because i love looking at their uniform colors so much,I'll waste 3 hours of my time watching it but not my money.wont put a dime into the NFL again.I'll keep watching them but i wont get all wrapped up in this winning losing thing, took me a while to wake up to the fact that the NFL is just as much of a phony money making racket as pro wrestling is

I had my suspecions but I did not wake up to this fact and become sure of it till this year though.

this bit of information you posted just confirms my long held suspecions.

**** the NFL.

The NFL serves another purpose too, it's the same as food stamps. It keeps the population pacified. It's a strategy the elites have used for thousands of years.

you mentioned it before how NFL games are rigged because they want certain teams to win for certain reasons making the good point that the NFL fixed the game between the patriots and the raiders by inventing on the spot the tuck rule, the worst call in NFL playoff history.that game was so obviously rigged,if you watch it they made some other horrible critical calls that went against the raiders in that game as well where not ONE BAD CALL went against the cheats.

plus they allowed the cheatriots to mug the rams receivers in that superbowl which was how they shocked the world in an upset.

they wanted the cheats to win because as you mentioned before,9/11 had just happened so they wanted everyone to see the name patriots in the superbowl.

they fixed the 49ers game against the falcons because they wanted america to see the harbaugh bowl.

they made sure the saints beat the vikings to make sure they got to the superbowl so america would feel feel there was hope for new orleans after hurricane katrina, they let the saints commit all kinds of penaltys that went uncalled in that game.

true that the NFL fixed the steelers game against the seahawks for the steelers to win wanting a team that has a lot of history to win it all but it worked for the seahawks in the 49ers game against the seahawks so the seahawks could win because they wanted to see the best defense against the best offense.

here is the proof in the pudding on that.

still more proof as well.

Yeah I was a Dilphin fan since I came to Flirida in 1968. I watched them play twice a year and yeah, they have always cheated to some degree. Ever heard of the Snowplow Game?
