Just getting word on this public shooting...it isn't a mass public shooting...yet, because the guy with the gun...I know, I know, they have gun control in Europe.....

The suspect was "known to police," had a criminal record....but still was able to get a gun in gun controlled Europe........

He is a muslim guy, shooting up a gay bar......

No mention was made of the gun he used....

Oslo's annual Pride parade was canceled on Saturday following a deadly shooting at a gay bar that Norwegian police are investigating as a possible terrorist attack.
Two people were killed and eight others taken to hospital after the shooting near the London Pub, which describes itself on its website as "the largest gay and lesbian venue in Oslo."
Police received multiple calls about the shooting at 1:14 a.m. local time, and arrived at the scene minutes later. They apprehended the male suspect three minutes after arrival, police said.

The suspect, charged with terrorism, is a Norwegian citizen originally from Iran, and was "known to the police," but has only received "minor convictions" up until now, prosecutor Christian Hatlo told reporters in Oslo Saturday.

Ummmmmm......this is awkward....

The muslim terrorist........had a fully automatic military rifle......a weapon of war.....the guy in Uvalde didn't even have one of those........

But......but..........fully automatic military rifles are illegal in Europe.....they are illegal in Norway......they are illegal in Oslo...

Yet despite the gun control laws in all those places...he got a weapon of war....easily....

And government fails all over the world....

He said intelligence services had spoken to the suspect last month. They did not consider him to have violent intentions but were aware that he had “difficulties with his mental health”.
-----
Norwegian media reported that the suspect was of Iranian Kurdish origin and had arrived in Norway as a child. Berg said the suspect, who had “a long history of violence and threats”, had been on the PST’s radar “in connection with concerns about his radicalisation” and membership “in an Islamist extremist network”.-

Two weapons, a pistol and an automatic rifle, had been seized, he said.

I keep telling the anti-gun fanatics......the weapon of choice of criminals in Europe is the actual military rifle...fully automatic....their criminals prefer and use fully automatic weapons of war....

The muslim terrorist, who had a long history of crime and violence, and had previous convictions for weapons charges..........

And still got a handgun and a weapon of war.....a fully automatic military rifle...

Wow, the 2nd mass shooting in Norway in the past 50 years. You sure found a good one to try and make your stupid point on

Nope........fully automatic military weapons are illegal in Europe, Norway and Oslo........yet this muslim terrorist, on government watch lists, with a long history of crime and violence.....was able to get one despite all of their gun control laws....

Our criminals don't even use military weapons........the criminals in Europe use them as their preferred weapons....

They have access to these highly illegal weapons.........they can take them to public places....which gun control laws have stopped them?

What's your point? That the Norwegian rules in place do not work? Based on this one shooting?

The Nordic nation of 5.4 million has lower crime rates than many Western countries, this in spite of Norway being in the top ten countries in the world when it comes to guns owned per capita.

Though Norway ranks fourteenth worldwide in gun ownership, according to Small Arms Survey, it placed near the bottom in gun homicide rates. (The U.S. rate is roughly forty-four times higher.)

Besides, where do you get the info that he used a fully automatic military rifle or that he obtained it easily?

So.....from your very own post....Norway has guns........their criminals simply do not tend to use them on each other, and ...again.....Norway has guns...their nuts simply choose not to use them to commit mass public shootings....

Guns are not the issue....the culture of the country is the issue....

We will see about the rifle he used.....the stories from France, Sweden, Belgium and other European countries show that fully automatic military rifles are the weapons of choice for criminals.........and likely this muslim terrorist who was already on government watch lists and a convicted criminal for previous weapons violations.

Or, could it be that Norwegian gun rules in place do work? Since you haven't proved otherwise, and the fact that countries with stringent gun rules have far fewer mass shootings than the US, it stands to reason that gun control laws do work.

What the fuck do you mean, guns are not the issue? It absolutely is. Since this mad Muslim guy did not go on a rampage with a knife but with a gun, guns are the issue in this particular incident. Are you trying to prove you are an idiot? Guess what? You have.

As for the "fully automatic military rifle", you claimed he used, where did you read it? Where are the stories from France, Sweden, or wherever that you used to make that assertion?

You also have not proved your statement that "he obtained it easily" Was that another statement you pulled out of your arse, too?:auiqs.jpg:

Next time, do some research before posting. Will help you look less of a fool. :itsok:

Hey…. Maybe you know this…..are grenades illegal in Sweden?

I'm back....

Norway is a tiny country....with a fairly homogenous population, with long standing western culture, values, traditions and respect for the rule of law.....they haven't suffered the family destuction that we have here in the U.S. with the 1960s "Great Society" program that destroyed black families ....

As to guns.......you would have to explain away the fact, that over 27 years here in the U.S.....as millions and millions of Americans not only owned guns, but carried them in public....and the gun murder rate went down, not up, the gun crime rate went down, not up...

So no, it isn't guns....it is the destruction of the family that began in the 1960s.....

You have to explain this...

Over 27 years, from 1993 to the year 2015, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 19.4 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2019 (in 2020 that number is 21.52 million)...guess what happened...

New Concealed Carry Report For 2020: 19.48 Million Permit Holders, 820,000 More Than Last Year despite many states shutting down issuing permits because of the Coronavirus - Crime Prevention Research Center

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

This means that access to guns does not create gun crime........

As to fully automatic military rifles?

France....

Paris attacks highlight France's gun control problems

Military-grade guns are banned in France, and even people who want to own a handgun or hunting rifle have to go through strict checks on their background and mental health.

But in recent years a black market has proliferated. The number of illegal weapons has risen at a rapid rate – double-digit percentages – for several years, according to the National Observatory for Delinquency, a body created in 2003.

“In Marseille and the surrounding area almost all the score settling is carried out using weapons used in wars,” a police spokesman told Reuters after the Toulouse attacks, adding that Kalashnikovs were the weapon of choice: “If you don’t have a ‘Kalash’ you’re a bit of a loser.”

You heard that right: Countries such as France may have made all semi-automatic guns illegal, but that hasn’t stopped killers from getting fully automatic machine guns to use in mass shooting attacks. All four of the 2015 mass public shooting in France involved machine guns, including the 130 people killed in November of that year in multiple attacks including one at a concert venue.

Paris attacks highlight France's gun control problems

The arsenal of weapons deployed by the eight attackers who terrorised Paris on Friday night underlined France’s gun control problems and raised the spectre of further attacks.

The country has extremely strict weapons laws, but Europe’s open borders and growing trade in illegal weapons
means assault rifles are relatively easy to come by on the black market.

A police investigation is underway after two people were shot dead, and a third burnt alive on Saturday evening in the southern French city of Marseille. It's the fourth death linked to gun violence this week, a phenomenon which the Mayor Benoît Payan says is out of control.

"In Marseille, you can buy a Kalachnikov as easy as buying a pain au chocolat," he said.

"This has to stop, and the Interior Minister, who is aware of the problem, must make it a key objective."
----

"If people are being killed by Kalachnikov rifles, it's because they are too easily sold throughout the city."

Reports of 'heavy gunfire' on the streets of French city of Nimes | Daily Mail Online

Machine-gun shots have been heard on the streets of a French city this evening as it was claimed a 'shootout' took place between rival gangs.

Repeated 'heavy gunfire' bursts were let off in the city of Nimes in southern France after armed men were seen in the area.

Social media videos showed several people running through the street as shots rang out at around 8.30pm.

Initial reports suggested the shooting could have been linked to gangs operating in the area.

Residents in a suburb of Pissevin district in the city claimed gang members shot at a building occupied by a rival group.

Reports of gunfire in the district have been on the rise in recent months, according to local media

This is How AK-47s Get to Paris

France outlaws most gun ownership and it’s almost impossible to legally acquire a high-powered rifle such as an AK-47, so where did the weapons in the Nov. 13 terror attack—not to mention the bloody January assault by Islamic terrorists on the Paris office ofCharlie Hebdo magazine and the 2012 shootings by a militant in Toulouse—come from?

Guns soon became a major export commodity in the Balkans. Western Europe is the target market. “Many firearms trafficked in Europe come from the western Balkans after being held illegally after recent conflicts in the area,” Europol reported. In just one case from 2014, Slovakian cops intercepted a truck trying to enter the country with “a large number of grenades and firearms,”according to Europol. “The vehicle was travelling from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Sweden.”

And it’s not like the stream of weapons will end when dealers in the Balkans run out of war-vintage leftovers. “One of the reasons we see a lot of Kalashnikovs and AK-47s on the black market is because Russia has just upgraded the Kalashnikov,” Kathie Lynn Austin, an expert on arms trafficking with the Conflict Awareness Project, told Al Jazeera, “and that has created massive stockpiles of the older models.”

On March 6, 2012, French lawmakers passed a law tightening up gun regulation and increasing penalties for illegal ownership. Just five days later, Mohamed Merah—a French jihadist of Algerian descent—went on shooting rampage, killing seven people in three separate attacks in around Toulouse before a police sniper shot him dead.

Merah’s arsenal included an AK-47, an Uzi, a Sten submachine gun, a shotgun, and several pistols—all illegal. “He could only supply himself on the black market or from crime organizations, that’s clear,” Thierry Coste, a pro-gun lobbyist, told The Christian Science Monitor.

In October 2014, French police raided several homes across the country, breaking up an Internet-based smuggling ring, arresting 48 suspected traffickers, and seizing hundreds of illegal guns. Three months later on Jan. 7 this year, jihadist gunmen wielding AK-47s shot up Charlie Hebdo in Paris, killing 12 people.

Europe in General...

European Police Face Being Outgunned by Jihadists With Assault Rifles

But although the police quickly traced the weapons source in the Paris attacks, stopping criminals and other jihadist cells in Europe from acquiring assault weapons for further attacks might not be so easy, according to police officials.

French police believe rifles are on sale in French cities for between €1,000 and €1,500. Earlier this month, Philippe Capon, head of the French police union UNSA, told Bloomberg News, “The French black market for weapons has been inundated with eastern European war artillery and arms.” A French police source told TIME that the weapons from the Charlie Hebdoattack came from the Balkans.
That is not the only source of weaponry. Donald says he fears that the continent might be facing a fresh influx of weapons from North Africa in the wake of the Arab Spring revolts. In August, 2011, Libyan rebels looted large quantities of mortars, tank shells and other munitions when Moammar Gaddafi’s regime collapsed. Although most of those weapons are believed to have filtered across North and West Africa, some could also have made their way to Europe.
The arms traffickers have flourished in the absence of well-financed antiweapons units in Europe, where law enforcement has for years tended to plow money into stopping drug-dealing and other crimes. “We don’t fully understand the scale of the problem because we have not had specialized units,” says Donald, referring to law-enforcement agencies in different E.U. countries. “It is a question of priorities. Any police officer will tell you it [resources] is a constant struggle.”
The trade in illegal weapons can earn enormous profits for organized criminal gangs — enough to make the risk of capture worthwhile. Donald says recent investigations have found arms traffickers investing about €30,000 in a shipment of Balkan-era weapons, refurbishing them in their garages, then selling them for them for about 10 times the price. “That’s a huge mark-up,” he says.

As Europe struggles to crack down on illegal weapons, some police recruits face a new training exercise: Go buy a Kalashnikov rifle. Donald says that in “a city in Europe,” which he would not name, “very young officers with no training or experience” were recently told to go find an assault weapon on the streets from an illegal arms dealer. “One came back two hours later with an AK-47,” Donald says. “He bought it for €1,000.”

Belgium....

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/11/16/frances-real-gun-problem/

Running guns to the heart of Europe: 'Need a Kalashnikov in Belgium? No problem'

But for all the new resolve of the European Union to tighten borders and close loopholes in laws that already effectively ban private ownership of rapid-fire assault weapons, Nemac, Milan and a jaded Serbian policeman doubt it can end the trade.

The Serbian police officer, who is involved in counter-trafficking operations, said investigators uncovered maybe a third of shipments at best. The problem was the sheer volume of weapons, he explained, recounting a tale of a man who told customs officers at Serbia's border with the EU that he was a musician and had nothing to declare but his old accordion.--

----

Indeed, there is some irony that Brussels, self-styled "capital" of the European Union and also home to the NATO military alliance, has become a marketplace for such hardware.

"If you have 500 to 1,000 euros you can get a military weapon within half an hour," said Bilal Benyaich, an expert on Islamist radicals at the city's Itinera Institute think-tank.

Sweden....

Crime gangs in Sweden: What's behind the rise in the use of explosives?

The frequent use of explosives is a relatively recent phenomenon, and criminologists told The Local that the blasts can be seen as part of an overall rise in violence and growing recklessness in these criminal networks.

Amir Rostami, a police superintendent turned sociologist with a focus on criminal gangs, told The Local that so-called 'street gangs' are showing an increased tendency towards violence, and that this violence was becoming more severe when it took place.

"If previously they maybe fired one shot or shot someone in the legs, today it's more about AK47s, using more bullets, hand grenades and explosions that we didn't see before.

I'd say that's the biggest shift we see – they're more reckless, they don't seem to care about the consequences," Rostami said.

Fatal shootings linked to criminal gangs have increased from around four per year in the early 1990s to over 40 in 2018. And while the blasts that have taken place in Sweden have caused no fatalities so far this year, they could be seen as a sign that the gangs are unafraid of causing damage and potentially harming people.

No, Sweden, hand grenade attacks aren’t an ‘image’ problem

In 2018 there were 162 bombings reported to police, and 93 reported in the first five months of this year, 30 more than during the same period in 2018. The level of attacks is “extreme in a country that is not at war,” Crime Commissioner Gunnar Appelgren toldSVT last year.
-------

The use of hand grenades is a purely Swedish phenomenon too, with no other country in Europe reporting their use on such a level, a police manager told Swedish Radio in 2016, a year after attacks first spiked.

The grenades used almost exclusively originate in the former Yugoslavia, and are sold in Sweden for around $100 per piece. But while only three hand grenades were thrown in Kosovo between 2013 and 2014, more than 20 have been used in Sweden every year since 2015.

More broadly, homicide has risen in Sweden, with more than 300 shootings reported last year, causing 45 deaths. Though homicide rates had been in decline since 2002, they again began trending upwards in 2015, as did rapes and sexual assaults, which more than tripled in the last four years.

Of course, 2015 was also the year in which Sweden flung open its doors to more than 160,000 asylum seekers, more per capita than any other European country.
-------

Why are young men in Sweden shooting each other?
IT WAS supposed to be a sneaky afternoon cigarette break.

Then a gunman in black appeared and shot 15-year-old Robin Sinisalo in the head.

His older brother Alejandro was shot four times. Robin died immediately on the doorstep of his home in north-west Stockholm. Alejandro was left in a wheelchair for life. Two years later, the boys’ mother, Carolina, says the police still have no leads.

Robin’s fate is increasingly common in Sweden. In 2011 only 17 people were killed by firearms. In 2017 the country had over 300 shootings, leaving 41 people dead and over 100 injured.

The violence mostly stems from street gangs running small-time drug operations in big cities such as Stockholm, the capital, Malmö and Gothenburg.

Gang members have even used hand grenades to attack police stations.

Between 2010 and 2015, people were killed by illegal firearms at the same rate as in southern Italy. Though Sweden is still a relatively peaceful place, this is worrying.

Acquiring a legal gun requires strict screening, but Kalashnikovs from the Yugoslav wars are readily available on the black market. To sweeten the deal, smugglers often throw in hand grenades (there were 43 grenade incidents in Sweden last year). The victims and perpetrators of gang violence are nearly always young men.

LOL Blah blah blah. In other words...you got nothing? Yeah thought so. :itsok:

LOL. Another day, another diarrhea? You left out, India, China, Japan, etc etc

All countries except the country in the thread you started. NORWAY!!! Three posts so far and yet... NO ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS!!!

Keep going. I love to see trumptards squirming to avoid the truth. This is hilarious!!! :auiqs.jpg:

You also have not proved your statement that "he obtained it easily" Was that another statement you pulled out of your arse, too?:auiqs.jpg:

LOL LOL LOL

You know that Marseille isn't in Norway, right? What the fuck does that have to do with Norway? Did the perp get his guns there? You haven't proved it.

You also haven't proved that he used a "fully automatic military rifle".

But more importantly, you haven't proved that the gun laws and rules in Norway haven't worked.

But keep squirming, retard. It is fun to see you trying to avoid the questions.

As always... next time you post some dumb shit, do your homework. That way, you won't look like the retard that you are. Now, fuck off.
