No food stamps for any family of a striking worker

They want the corps to have all the power and the people to have none

ThinkProgress » Buried Provision In House GOP Bill Would Cut Off Food Stamps To Entire Families If One Member Strikes

Want to talk about class warfare?

The republicans in congress have written into a bill a provision that anyone related to a striking worker will have their food stamps taken away.

So a single Mom can have her food stamps taken away for trying to strike for enough pay to get off of food stamps.

The right is full on against ANY workers rights.

Why do they hate the vast majority of Americans?

It is right on subject

You started a thread advocating that workers turn over their lives to a organization and somehow think that they get power by turning their power over to others?

You irrational paranoia against corporations is rather comical. Somehow an organization providing jobs for people is bad because it's organized one way. But somehow other forms of businesses that likewise employ people are not evil for unspecified reason.

And you guys have the audacity to say anyone else is fearmongering.

Just once, I'd like to see you guys make an argument not based on emotion.

Americans can create and or join a union.

Its legal.

Your attempts to distroy the peoples ability to join together as they wish is pretty telling

So you think people should be allowed to blackmail, extort, intimidate the taxpayers? And then donate the money the "scared" politicians give them back to reelect those politicians?

So you think unions are against the constitution and should be illegal?

That is not in line with the vast majority of Americans sentiments

Oh BTW this law is not just about public sector workers

how do our current taxes compare to our countrys history of taxes?

Why are you singling out Mexicans on food stamps? What do you have against their needs? That is racist.

Considering the first 150 years of our nations existence, we didn't have any income tax, rather high.

TM is afk for 10 min while she reads up on history. In that 10 min TM will decide she kows more about history than all the people everywhere that don't agree with her.

Whew, job well done TM!

So someone who refuses to work should be getting foodstamps? Why?

Heck, why do the Feds provide foodstamps anyway?

I wonder if you guys would have a problem with them cutting food stamps to the military? You do realize many in the military are on food stamps?
God, forbid the poor try to stand up for themselves.
:clap2: Bravo, you guys should be so proud!

I was unaware of the military being on food stamps. You have things confused..... I think most are saying that if you refuse to work when you have the physical ability then you should not be able to recieve food stamps. It makes no sense to disagree with that.

Considering the first 150 years of our nations existence, we didn't have any income tax, rather high.

And we pretty much had no middle class either....the very very rich did very very well. Just look at their summer homes in Newport for a feel of that.

So you think workers are too stupid to know what is good for them?

Unions are merely groups of people working together.

You want to ban that ?

So you feel all workers offer the same work ethic and output?
Is it fair to worker A who busts his butt to be in on time and does not call in becuase of 2 inches of snow on the ground and only used 2 of his sick days as he did not consider a stuffed nose as being sick should get no more consideration than the employee that uses every sick day afforded him by contract (whether he is sick or not); and calls in everytime it snows out?

Do you truly believe that every employee in any given company has the exact same work ethic?

And assuming you are smart enough to realize that not every worker has the same work ethic...what do you think happens when there is no recognition of a better work ethic? DO you think the lazier worker steps up to meet the ethic of the other....or do you think the other is more likely to say "what the hell am I working so hard for....my co-worker calls in sick once a week and and I get no more than he does"

What do you think the outcome would be?

And...of course...no response to the above.

Several pages of responses...but still not nterested in addresssing this TM?

Why is that?

You mean the summer homes that were built by a builder wth a crew, used materials sold by a distributer of building materials, that were shipopped by a shipping company, is serviced now by a landscaper...

You mean the summer homes that each allowed dozens of people the ability to earn a living and fed their families?

You mean those homes?
