o when you have to pre bake a crust you have to prick the bottom.....

I've only done that one time that I can remember. I usually only bake apple pie because that one is my (and most people's) favorite.

for christmas dinner...with christians.....2 key lime pies and 1 angel food cake...the key limes just called for yolks and i hate to waste food so i used the egg whites to make the angel food cake....

Homemade is always better, waaaay better than bakeries, IMO. It's the love.

i think shortening is better than butter....butter wont flake the crust like shortening will

I much more concerned with the filling anyways. The crust is just to hold the fillings.
