I see an astute member of ours has answered your queries, but would just like to add, usually we leave politics out of Introductory threads, and then enrich ourselves ( ) later in a thread for intelligent discourse. No, you do not need a link to make a post with your own ideas.

I can't really say. I think it is up to the discretion of the staff. If folks use Wikipedia or AI as links, those posts could go, or they might stay.
