New Trump Ad Slams Biden: 'Surrender In Chief'

Pentagon says US has dropped to 2,500 troops in Afghanistan

By ROBERT BURNS and LOLITA C. BALDORJanuary 15, 2021

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military has met its goal of reducing the number of troops in Afghanistan to about 2,500 by Friday, a drawdown that may have violated a last-minute congressional prohibition.
The reduction could complicate matters for the incoming Biden administration, which must determine how to handle a Trump administration commitment to the Taliban to remove all U.S. military, intelligence and contractor personnel from Afghanistan by May as a move to spur peace negotiations. Those talks are in an early stage.
Senior U.S. commanders are skeptical of the Taliban’s stated commitment to peace, although they have said they can accomplish their mission in Afghanistan with 2,500 troops.
Christopher Miller, in his final days as the acting secretary of defense, announced on Friday the 2,500 troop level, saying it brings the United States “closer than ever to ending nearly two decades of war.” He said the U.S. remains in position to “ensure that Afghanistan is never again used to harbor those who seek to bring harm to the United States of America.”
President Donald Trump, who ordered the reduction in November, when there were about 4,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, aid Thursday that troop levels in Afghanistan had reached a 19-year low, although he did not mention a troop number. Last February his administration struck a deal with the Taliban to reduce American troop levels in phases and to go to zero by May 2021. It is unclear how the incoming Biden administration will proceed.

My God what a stupid bimbo.

Again ...

... I did not say Trump didn't draw down to 2,500. That was the RUN RATE of troops. That doesn't mean that Trump wouldn't have put more troops back DURING the evacuation.

My God how are you possibly that stupid? Seriously, how?

And you're not a Democrat, yet here you are, defending Democrats for a historical fuck up because you're a mind swilling zombie of a Democrat

My God what a stupid bimbo.

ya ya ya .... says the dude who thinks donny didn't surrender to the taliban.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight - it makes SO much sense to withdraw ALL 5000- like donny wanted to do initially; but when he got tons of blowback - including his psychophants in his party - he upped the troop number from ZERO to 2500, only to send more in when the number was already there; knowing they would need to be there in a relatively short amount of time? LOL!!!!
My God how are you possibly that stupid? Seriously, how?

right back at you, trump humper.

And you're not a Democrat,

nyet. lol , not a racist either - but don't let that fact stop your fantasy.

yet here you are, defending Democrats

i'm defending the finality to all this. 20 yrs kazoo ---- 20 fucking years. & i'm defending a president who finally is taking the responsibility AND the heat for the inevitable mess it was gonna be. no other prez - including obama wanted to take it on. donny grandstanded, with no real exit plan - & cuddling up to the taliban & allowing them to release 5000 prisoners wasn't it.

or a historical fuck up because you're a mind swilling zombie of a Democrat

Right on target with this ad.

Donald Trump is running an ad slamming Biden for "surrendering". All that will do is remind people who it really was who "surrendered" to the Taliban. Biden simply carried out Trump's "surrender". I guess the ad is already out of date since Biden took out the ISIS-K leader yesterday. That's a real kick ass move. No surrender there at all.

Once again, Republicans don't even wait for the American bodies to get cold, or the families to grieve before they try to make political hay out of their deaths.

Really, he did?

Then perhaps you can point out some of those provisions that Trump negotiated that have occurred?

freezing out the afghani government per the taliban's 'request' in the surrender was 1. a 2nd provision was releasing 5000 terrorists captured & imprisoned was another.

The pact includes the release of 5,000 Taliban fighters who have been held prisoners by the Afghanistan government, which is not a party to the agreement.

when 'the papers were signed' cementing donny's surrender to the taliban in february 2020 ... the taliban gave the afghan army a choice- desert, join them, or be killed once the US leaves their country for good. why do you think the afghan prez fled to the UAE with a ton of cash? you think that was a spur of the moment thing or preplanned?

Very powerful summation of the failure of the Biden administration and the video did even hit him very hard on his domestic failures, which are enormous.

Trump’s Deal With the Taliban Draws Fire From His Former Allies

The former president and his secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, are attacking President Biden over Afghanistan even as their own policy faces harsh criticism.

WASHINGTON — Days before the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks two years ago, President Donald J. Trump had a novel idea. He would invite leaders of the Taliban, the group that harbored Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan as the founder of Al Qaeda plotted his strikes on America, to join peace negotiations at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland.

The notion of any presidential meeting with the Taliban, let alone one close to Sept. 11, stunned many of Mr. Trump’s top advisers. But Mr. Trump was eager to engage with the militant group, which the United States had been fighting for almost 20 years, as he pursued his goal of removing American troops from Afghanistan by the end of his term.

Months earlier, at Mr. Trump’s direction, the State Department had begun face-to-face talks with the Taliban in Qatar to negotiate an American exit. Mr. Trump called off the Taliban visit to Camp David after an American soldier was killed in a bombing in Kabul, the Afghan capital, but the peace talks continued.

They culminated in a February 2020 deal under which the United States agreed to withdraw in return for Taliban promises not to harbor terrorists and to engage in their first direct negotiations with the Afghan government.
Mr. Trump’s secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, attended the signing ceremony in Doha and posed for a photo alongside the Taliban leader, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, which resurfaced this week on social media. Mr. Baradar is widely expected to become the head of a new Taliban government based in Kabul.
Some former senior Trump officials now call that agreement fatally flawed, saying it did little more than provide cover for a pullout that Mr. Trump was impatient to begin before his re-election bid. They also say it laid the groundwork for the chaos unfolding now in Kabul.
“Our secretary of state signed a surrender agreement with the Taliban,” Mr. Trump’s second national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, said of Mr. Pompeo during a podcast interview with the journalist Bari Weiss on Wednesday. “This collapse goes back to the capitulation agreement of 2020.
The Taliban didn’t defeat us. We defeated ourselves.”
And in an interview with CNN on Wednesday, former Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper said that, while President Biden “owns” the ultimate outcome in Afghanistan,

[ & biden is willingly taking the heat, but will call out the facts]
Mr. Trump had earlier “undermined” the agreement through his barely disguised impatience to exit the country with little apparent regard for the consequences. That included an October 2020 declaration by Mr. Trump that he wanted the 5,000 American troops then in Afghanistan home by Christmas.

I love how you're talking about "run rates" for troops like you have a clue. Kaz, the clueless FuckBoi is now a great military strategist. He'll be right there to run the war as soon as he can tell the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground.
Very powerful summation of the failure of the Biden administration and the video did even hit him very hard on his domestic failures, which are enormous.

I love how you clowns are talking about the "enormous domestic failures", which no one can see but you. One would think that the greatest number of job losses since the Great Depression, the worst racial unrest the 1960's, climate change setting the temperate forests on fire every summer, and the worst economic crash since the Great Depression, and a pandemic which killed 500,000 Americans, any domestic change would have to be an improvement.

But the Trump Cult doesn't want good governance. They want America to continue to be destroyed. The economy crashed, and the nation to fail. It's hard to imagine that all of you posters are stupid enough to continue to support Trump and the Republicans, which leads to the obvious conclusion that you're not Americans and you want to see the USA destroyed.

Your purpose is to end the USA, to suit your own masters, whoever they may be. There is no reason to support the failure of Donald Trump otherwise.

What a bitter little Canadian wench. This is just sad

NO ONE was ever planning on or even talking about getting the Afghan Army weapons out. We will leave zero hi tech weapons behind. Anything that matters and can't be taken out will be destroyed
Ah the Taliban have already seized millions in the most advanced night vision rifle scopes and goggles. Not sure where you are getting your misinformation, Biden maybe.

Right on target with this ad.
Typical. Nothing like trying to score political points using our fallen soldiers to do it. There's a good example of the no good filthy slime that constitutes the Trump party. Which is not surpring considering the lowlife that leads it.

Those are provisions for the US, yes. The Taliban also had requirements to meet in order for us to continue with withdrawl. They have not.

They are still providing a haven for Al Qaeda and were required to work out a peace deal with the Afghani government. So, no, the 'agreement' that Trump made with the Taliban, which was never really an actual binding agreement considering that Trump did this on his own, was not followed.

The provisions that put even slight commitments on the Taliban have been ignored.

Of fuck off. Every time American citizens died in riots or were killed by police or were killed by other "whites" you ficking two faced hacks can't post your vitriol fast enough.

Biden fucked up and Americans died as a result. Those are the facts. Deal with it or cry, idgaf

No worries though Biden gave them a list of names. Americans and what the Taliban would consider traitors to their nation. I'm sure it'll all work out
