Walmart forced suppliers to off-shore manufacturing in order to reduce prices. Walmart's policies saw 150,000 American jobs shipped to Asia. Many suppliers said they wanted to keep the jobs in the US, but they couldn't afford to lose their Walmart contracts so they did it.

Charter schools aren't "much better". In fact, the only reason why their students score higher on test scores is that they weed out the problem children at the start. No intellectually challenged, or behaviour issues for the Charters. They expell any student who might drag those scores down. They only admit the brighter motivated students to begin with.
Public education made America great, creating the best educated and most productive work force in the world, so of course Republicans want to get rid of it. Because they know that minority children will be left even further behind, providing an uneducated underclass they can point to as being a drag on the economy.
Republicans are angry that minorities and the "urban" dwellers are getting better educations and moving to the suburbs, and damn it all but they're demanding "rights" like they were people and all.
