A new study has been pre-published looking at the rate of re-transition. This study looked at children who socially transitioned (i.e. using different pronouns, dressing differently, etc) at an age younger than 12, then came back to them on average 5 years later to check on how they identified.
They found that 97.5% of the children in the study who identified as transgender at an age younger than 12 still identified as transgender 5 years later, with 2.5% identifying as cisgender.
