Why is this so important? Other than from a feel good position........

Many families in NY were affected by 9-11
It was their finest hour as the city came together

So? Many families have come together throughout history creating untold finest hours. Tell ya what let's mandate a moment of silence for them also..........

They are welcome to hold their own moment of silence

Pretty sure they (the politicians) have more important things to do but this at least gets them more votes.........

Why would anyone object to a moment of silence once a year?

I'm not objecting to it, I'm simple stating that mandating it through legislation was a waste of taxpayer time and money but that's what elected officials love to do......... Especially if it gets them more votes.
