That ^^^The government never should have been involved in guaranteeing student loans, then exempting the loans from bankruptcy.
The banks went ape shit, giving anyone and their brother very expensive loans.

Tuition Is Bribery; Education Is Indentured Servitude"...they don't need to be pumping cash straight out of college."
See that's kind of the problem, they DO need to be pumpoing cash straight out of college because of high student loan debt and the ability to make payments on the loan. If the cash isn't there to make a living AND pay the debt, there are problems.

That speaks to the quality of the community college student - not the community college. Many shouldn’t be in ANY college.Um, yeah, about that.
The problem is community colleges are a joke. Right after HS (because I couldn't get into the college of my choice right away) I took one semester at a City College in Chicago. The coursework was less rigorous than my coursework at my Catholic High School. When I finally got to a real university the next year, it was quite a shock.
Only 16% of students who start at a Community college end up getting a Bachelor's degree. Only about a third of them end up even being able to transfer to a real university.

Then you have a good percentage who enroll in a 2-year terminal program, after which they begin their careers.
But for bright, capable students who want to complete a Bachelor’s degree, it is an excellent option to hold costs way down - and win transfer scholarships as well. Just takes discipline, motivation, and of course intelligence.
I’d add that the free tuition only applies to career-oriented majors - such as architecture, engineering, chemistry, business, finance, etc. - and not Pottery Decoration and Social Justice Implementation.OK, let's have a little perspective here.
EDUCATION has long been the second-best path (entrepreneurship being first) for working-class and poor children to rise to the middle class and beyond. There were COUNTLESS WWII and Korean War vets who improved their station in life well above that of their parents, and it was almost all attributable to the GI Bill (which changes significantly for every generation).
Needless to say, Congress doesn't care that it lacks the Constitutional power to get into the education business, and sought to provide analogous benefits to Yoots who were not veterans through a cornucopia of scholarships, grants, loans, and loan guarantees.
Logic would seem to demand that when facilitating higher education for poor and working class Yoots, one would ensure that the education being supplemented and funded has a likely payoff in the economic value of a grad whose education has been facilitated. But Government lacks the "intelligence" to make such value judgments, and Democrats recoil at such judgments, so would never even countenance a requirement that the college and major have some tangible economic value.
At the same time, our colleges and universities have been frantic to keep their classrooms filled as the Boomers gradually withered away, so they lowered admission and grading standards, introduced bullshit majors, and welcomed unqualified"minorities" who lacked both the finances and the academic bona fides to be actual college students.
Which is where we are now. Despite statistics that hint otherwise, at least half of college grads today will never earn nearly as much as a skilled tradesman (electrician, plumber, HVAC tech) because they lack any knowledge or skills that would make them valuable to a prospective employer - even the Government, which hires hundreds of thousands of Americans with worthless degrees.
If I were a King, with power to make and implement both Federal and State policies, I would:
(Just kidding with that last one).
- Make state colleges and junior colleges tuition-free, provided that
- It is only free for those who are actually "college material," as demonstrated by a satisfactory SAT (or equivalent) score…say 500 per side.
- Eliminate all Federal loan guarantee programs, encouraging the Colleges themselves to finance higher education, if they dare to do so.
- Declare a national minimum wage of $30/hr.
I’d add that the free tuition only applies to career-oriented majors - such as architecture, engineering, chemistry, business, finance, etc. - and not Pottery Decoration and Social Justice Implementation.
then what would be the harm in lisa' idea?...and what would be the problem in making bold.org responsible for the loans?Nobody is getting degrees in that.

What a stupid ******* broken record. This guy ^^^ is the most broken of broken records.Tuition Is Bribery; Education Is Indentured Servitude
Like the NFL with college football, the corporations use college education as a free minor leagues. The unjust difference is that jocks get expensive housing, expensive food, and expensive entertainment. I mention free tuition last, because we're not allowed to talk about sacrificing a full-time job, however low the pay is, and being forced to live like a young adult who is afraid to grow up.
Whatever is excluded from a discussion is something we ought to think about. It means the choirmasters are hiding something.
