She has no individual authority to do so. Aside from the fact that the 14th A is not a state law states can effect or act on, she has no authority past merely organizing a group within her state administrative chapter to evaluate the possibility. Actions such as this clearly far outside the purview of elected officials powers should carry heavy penalties from immediate impeachment from office to stiff civil and criminal liabilities. It is indeed scary that yet another democrat either does not even understand the law or apparently has no regard for it.

The Maine official who moved to disqualify former President Donald Trump from the state's 2024 Republican primary ballot on Thursday visited the White House this year to meet with President Biden and previously referred to the Electoral College as a "relic of white supremacy."

How does the electoral college become "white supremacy" when it does not involve race at all? It keeps us from being mob rule so that all 50 states have a voice in choosing their president and having representation therein.

On two separate occasions this year — once in March and another time in June — Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, a Democrat, was invited to the White House, according to White House visitor logs.

Bellows' first trip came after she was invited to attend a Women’s History Month event held on March 22 at the White House, where she met with Biden and snapped a photo with him.

In her ruling to disqualify Trump from the state's 2024 ballot, Bellows cited Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution that bars people who have "engaged in insurrection" from running for elected office without two-thirds congressional approval. The clause was originally meant to bar former Confederate soldiers and officers from holding positions in the U.S. government or military. "I reviewed Section Three of the 14th Amendment very carefully and determined that Section Three of the 14th Amendment does not say 'conviction,' it says 'engage,'" Bellows said.

Too bad for Bellows that she has no power to unilaterally and decide solely without legal process that Trump even "engaged" in an insurrection, as to rule thusly, you are in effect CONVICTING HIM W/O DUE PROCESS OF LAW.

The GOP should move to have this woman removed from office to then face stiff criminal charges for gross abuse of her elected powers. To decide all this on her own without even any legal proceeding nor legal decisions to support her position outside of ONE FUCKING WORD and her interpretation of it from the Bill of Rights.

If one goes simply by an opinion of someone who claimed someone else "engaged", then its all a dictatorship.
Then there no longer is rule of law, no courtrooms, judicial oversight, no will of the people, etc.
