New Hamas Charter to Redefine 'enemy'...

Let's hope that the outdated charter is revised properly and makes a clear definition between the state of Israel, the people of Israel and the settlers...

If this can be done then I think it is a positive move on behalf of Hamas.

“It means that we don’t fight Jews because they are Jews,” said Taher el-Nounou, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza. “Our struggle is only against those who occupied our lands.”

New Hamas charter would name ‘occupiers,’ not ‘Jews,’ as the enemy
This is could be a good thing!
Maybe Hamas is giving some kind of good signal to Israel :)
I'm not thinking they want to change their mind on Jews at all but the fact they don't call Jews enemies anymore is a little encouraging

Hamas does not have problems with the Jews.

“Hamas has no problem with the Jews, the problem is only with the Israeli occupation which is based on the Zionism,” Haneya told reporters after the meeting.

Gaza - Hamas Meets Neturei Karta Rabbis in Gaza Strip

Jews spending the day in Gaza.

Tinmore you've been posting that picture of the Neturei Karta Rabbis and the video of the playground builders for years. Your computer is so full of junk files it's a wonder it works.

If you have nothing sensible or constructive to say simply move on Holly...

When was your last useful comment? Your idiocy claiming scum of the earth like hamas changing a few words in a document while crushing their people and murdering them and others is supposed to be of any value?

Jews are safer in Gaza than they are in Jerusalem.

Oh please. There ARE no Jews in Gaza. So you know this how, exactly?
There have been a lot of Jews in Gaza. Some ISM members are Jews. The Boats to Gaza had Jews. The convoys had Jews. Amira Hass lived there until Israel made it illegal. Norman Finkelstein has been there. Judge Goldstone was there. The National Lawyers Guild has been there. Neturei Karta has been there a couple times. Code Pink has been there several times.

There was never a threat to any of them.

Well yeah, a few token Jews as a cynical propaganda ploy is your best effort.

Don't expect others to take your nonsense as anything but propaganda.

You are just blowing smoke. There is virtually no animosity between the Muslims and Christians of Palestine and the Jews.

It is not that the Palestinians hate Jews. The Problem is Israel's policies.

I find your self-appointment as Minister of Propaganda for the Islamic Terrorist Franchises of Gaza and the West Bank to be a total hoot.

I'd have preferred Baghdad Bob but I guess he was busy?

Joke of the week: "Palestinians don't hate Jews"!

Part-time comedian?

I bet they think all of Israel, is stolen Palestinian land.

Of course it is stolen. The Zionists were settler colonists from elsewhere on other continents, the Palestinians were living in Palestine and their ancestors had been living in Palestine for thousands of years. What do you call it? LOL

So, you don't see this as a possible positive move toward finding some settlement?
On the surface, it sounds good. But when I read further, the part that I quoted, it sounds more like a feint. Since the real problem that prevents peace by Hamas towards Israel is the fact that they do not recognize the State of Israel. Something that is not proposed in this change in their charter.

Like Abbas, who talks about peace and a two state solution to the rest of the world, but when speaking to the Palestinians, he incites violence against Israel.

I agree Teddy...

There DOES need to be a clarification of their proposed change... However, if you look at it in with a positive spin, the change of 'enemy' could also suggest that there is becoming an acceptance of the State of Israel AND Jews by Hamas...

My concern with the wording is that it doesn't quite go far enough as far as 'protecting' the State of Israel... It would be very easy for Hamas to 'blame' the State of Israel for the settlers and then there is no change!

It's all very easy to discard this proposed change BUT it is a positive change IF it happens...

The whole point is NOT to distinguish between them. If they are Jewish -- then they are Occupiers.

They are changing the language. But not the ideology.

How so?

Is it not better to differentiate between the 'good' and the 'evil' than to lump everyone into one pot, so to speak?

I think you missed my point. Hamas is not going to differentiate between "good" Jews (dhimmis) and "evil" Jews (settlers -- meaning all Jews who live in the entire territory). Hamas has removed the language of "Jew" and replaced it with "occupier" but they still mean all Jews who live anywhere in the ME. The ideology is the same. You can spray perfume and pretty words on rotten fruit, but its still rotten fruit.

Where does it state what you think?

As I replied to Teddy earlier, there needs to be a lot of clarification to their proposed change but, any step to change the Hamas Charter, should be looked upon as a positive one!

Do you know what your government is? Here is what one of your ministers, the Justice Minister, believes and posted on her Facebook page:

"They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there." - See more at: Netanyahu appoints Ayelet Shaked—who called for genocide of Palestinians—as Justice Minister in new government

I don't see why you have to be patronising here...

To be fair to you, I would not expect any pro Israel supporter to see ANY positivity in ANYTHING that Hamas and Palestinians do... It is not in the interests of the State of Israel...

The potential that Hamas or ANY other organisation that is pro Palestinian making positive steps and, potentially gaining international support would not sit well with Netanyahu!

It doesn't sit well with ANY Israeli.

I think it is time you start thinking with your big brain here.

If Itzhak Rabin was alive today, he wouldn't have negotiated with Hamas at all, I can promise you that. The sane left would not have looked to negotiate with any party that calls for Israel's destruction.

Hamas is not a pro-Palestinian organization like there are many worldwide. They are the "chosen" party or the Palestinians and the leadership they "chose". And their mission is so clear that ANY attempt to color it in different painting will be a wicked deciet.

The mothers who raised killers are to be treated like the sons they have raised. I wholeheartedly agree with Shaked on that. We cannot send them to prison, sadly, because they supported them no more, but her opinion is legitimate and I see her point. Ayelet Shaked is a remarkable woman. However, she should put her focus on the justice system, more. Fighting of the corruption of the high court, dig more into the Ta'ir Rada case, improve catagories for internship, and so on. If she focuses more on that than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it would gain her much more popularity.

Palestinians are split Mr. Genius. The last poll I saw was 35% support Hamas and 39% support the PLO. The rest support neither. I would bet that at least 35% of Israelis support parties or movements that want the elimination of all non-Jews in Palestine and Israel. Actually, I just checked. I was being generous. This is from an Israeli source. So what do you say Mr. Genius?
