Detained for what? He was standing nearby recording. That wasn't a physical confrontation until the police made it physical.

Not only did he not pull a gun, he put his right hand up to show he wasn't a threat when he interposed himself between the agent and the woman the agent just punched.

Every single person in public might be armed. Any person ICE encounters might be armed. The argument is ICE can just blast people away.

We live in a hair trigger world now. These guys are incredible for not doing anything against the insurrectionists. It is not easy taking the crap. Especially when the other side would die quickly. People in parts of the world are protesting in their nations with some really imprisoned and dying. And here it is a joke. Only it is on us the taxpayer.
Which is an important point. Pretti's training sucked. You always tell the LEO in advance if you're carrying. Otherwise the both of you are gonna get surprised.
I could tell you a great story about that. I can carry in OK, and the LEO's are mighty grateful when someone has proper training.
Amen to that.
Shit happens though.
If you happen to get caught in a situation... That's what training is for. Winging it is awful dangerous.

One of my dear friends is a Filipina-American. She's a citizen, her husband is a vet, her son is a citizen.
She tells me that she walks around with her naturalization papers and passport in case she's ever picked up by ICE.
