Neocon Fossil Bob Bennett (Squish-UT) Ditched

I've been following the story, it has been very interesting. I see it as the Tea Party conservatives leading the Republicans in giving up the middle ground. Which is good in that it should allow the Democrats an opening to move towards the center and be less liberal.

Can you tell me when the last time the dems went more 'center'?

This past election, they ran a bunch of blue dogs to get the vote, and when those 'more to the center' guys got to DC, most of them caved (all in the Senate). Plenty of people at the tea parties are dems that feel 'betrayed' by their 'representatives'; they are not being represented in DC.

Can you give me any examples of how the dems would move more to the 'center'?

You're no more a republican than am I.

Just give up the façade...Nobody -and I mean nobody- is buying it.

Nobody but nobody cares what you buy, dude.

Like I said...it will make for an interesting November.

At what point does the GOP tell the Tea Party to go **** themselves? They have a Tiger by the tail and are afraid to let go

The people that agree with the 'tea party' ideals are a majority in this country. It would be 'suicide' for a politician to slam the tea party ideals (unless ACORN is in your back pocket, and you don't have to worry about a legitimate vote).

Rasmussen? Polling the far right conservatives, huh? The only thing that will be repealed is any far right input to national politics are 2010 and what will be replaced will include Boehner and McConnell. The GOP needs sane, moderate leadership with a good message. Doesn't have it, yet.

Lots of reasons to dump him. TARP and the fact he has been there too long.

It has long been past time for him to move on.

Why keep a sell out?

He has his moments, but he has prevaricated too much in recent years to carry water for the GOP and talk about stupid side topics. It's part of why I don't really listen much any more and have gone to listening more to Glenn Beck, Jason Lewis and Chris Baker. Why? They don't play the parties, they point out right and wrong, good and evil, and speak out against elitism and all theats to liberty regardless of party.

Huh, I guess this is very illustrative of what is happening on the party level. Even talk show hosts that begin to moderate, or sell out their ideals will soon be left behind for those who don't. I've no desire to waste attention on party hacks. I even listen occasionally to Tom Hartmann to realize how totally screwed up the other side is.

I stopped listening to Hannity awhile ago. I listen to Boortz, Beck, Limbaugh, Levin, And Ingraham.

That explains it.

That explains it.

Explains what? That they say what *I* think? And they aren't the only ones. They are just the front of the class. And there's more than Radio too...:eusa_whistle:

Explains that you *can't* think for yourself. Instead you fill your little pea with hate, paranoia, liberal bashing and blame the victim propaganda.

Please, explain who you both listen to? In fact, where you watch or hear the news?

I'd like to know..

No, you see, we're already at the center and about to dip right. What that kind of crap does is moving Dems even more right because of the GOP going all out fringe, when they are supposed to just hold the ground they used to and see congress becoming theirs again, they are trying to not let it happen!

We are center???? Are you watching what is happening in Greece and in other countries that this gov is modeling 'our country' after? For Greece to straighten out its finances, IT HAS TO DROP THE GOV-RUN HEALTH CARE (because the gov can't control the costs).
We are leaning hard left, and it is hurting our: business startups, manufacturing, individual rights, our economy, and more. We have some far left groups writing our policies and we are no longer the 'proud' US (our congress and Pres will tell you how terrible this country is at the drop of a hat); we are weak and getting weaker every day this gov is in power.

Actually, it allows for a moderate party to form due to the epic collapse of the Republican party.

The Democrats will always be a pluristic party, but its very size is a detriment for other ideology to gain a permanent grip on its leadership.

No--Let the Tea baggers trigger the Right Wing revolution. I warned our right wing friends on this board, the tea bag movement lack a core message!

Wait--wait--they do have a message! It is "Die, Republican Party! DIE"
and more fierce than a leftist could ever say it!!

So.... what does the 'stepford dem' believe in, think is worth their all-out support, to the point of fighting for it, or even giving their life for those 'special dem ideals'. Please list.

I say the same thing about the Dmocrats.

Unfortunately, there is no party with sane moderate Leadership. The Dems take on too many issues from too many different perspective, the Republicans are too "singular".

It's a fair question I'd like to see answered. Probably the DU, HuffNPuff, or some such other nonsense.

Thanks.

Tea Party represents 25% of the country. The same 25% that thought George Bush was doing a great job, same 25% that loves Sarah Palin, same 25% that watches Glenn Beck religiously.

You know what? Liberals are at times quite nice to speak with. YOU are on the other hand a far Leftist moron. I think quite well thanks, and so do those that I listen to.

Where do you read the news? Or are you one of those whackjobs that tries to make news? Who is paying you?

Sorry, save your teabag nonsense for next meeting at pizza hut. Our books used to be somewhat balanced until we've got 'conservative' presidents for 12 years first and 'compasionate conservative' president for 8 years, somewhere later.

If you want to compare us to Greece, our economy isn't shrinking 3% a year, we do not have morons running the country anymore, and we finally get money saving health plan for US. If you want to be "proud" of US as in GOP running the country well **** you moron.

Why is it, when I ask a dem to list their beliefs, I get insults? Don't you know what you believe, sugar?

And there I was, thinking, that teabaggers would not start fights with their own when they ought to defeat Democratic Majority. Well, I guess he's not evangelical enough for teabaggers. Mormon from Utah, how weird.
The "teabaggers" are doing their dead level best to get the neocon worms -like Bennett and Hatch- out of the party and back to the democrats, where they belong.

Of course, the leftloons were saying the same things they are today about turning the backs of the hand to the Rockefeller country club snob wing of the party in favor of Reagan (forgetting for the moment what a disappointment he ended up being), and that worked out for two huge landslide victories.

So, y'all just keep it up.

The majority of the people DON'T agree with the teabaggers...they are nothing but Bushies. The teabaggers rate George W. Bush HIGHER than Republicans

Among all adults, Bush is viewed "not favorabl[y]" by 58 percent. On the flip side, he is revered by Tea Partyers, with a 57 percent favorable rating. And that support carries over when it comes to assessing blame for our economic mess. Tea Partyers blast Obama over Bush for the current federal budget deficit (24 percent to 6 percent) and the for the current state of the nation's economy (10 percent to 5 percent)
Washington Post - George W. Bush will always have the Tea Party

Teabagger...the quintessential pea brain

I would be tickled pink if we actually did, finally as a nation, show Washington that WE run this country, not them!
